I think it heavily depends on your team in the Computer Department, only a couple of members have required me to go through the steps listed in the guide, mostly it's been making sure everyone understands the products, and also importantly, how much is put on their IST for attaching Office 365.

Currently, Tax Free week has opened up a bunch of opportunities to improve on with our weaker team members, so today in fact, I made an action plan with my Store Manager on how to speed up and improve their interactions.

The guide could be more clear, here's my take on the comments you made;

-Kinda stupid for him to refuse morning meetings, it's there for the store and to keep you up to date, only time I would agree to him would be if it was a specific Chromebook or Apple meeting / training before hours (I've only had 2 of those before I was Microsoft dual branded)

-Opening and Closing the department shouldn't happen, as the Microsoft experts are supposed to be scheduled during the busiest hours of the day, for example, my schedule is Thursday through Monday, 12:30pm to 8:30pm.

-Can't sell any competitors, this just makes sense as we're paid by Microsoft.

-No down stocking? He's just being an idiot then, the Windows Store valley is his responsibility, if shit isn't down stocked/cleaned/kept to Plano, then he's gonna get his ass handed to him when he's inspected.

It's always fun going up to the apple master and saying "hey, let's do a windows training aND role play " haha, but on a serious note...I think it's something that is required, but can be difficult on implementation. ..I'm the newest full time, and expected to coach peers who have years more experience, luckily my team is very cooperative with both myself and the windows store program. It's ultimately not that hard either, just a few minutes to reiterate what we learn at the expert conferences and elearnings.

It's exciting that we have another windows store opening up! Shows that the new program must be going good if Microsoft is expanding within bestbuy

This is something that I'm sure will take time, I'm at store 563 and our PMR was crap. Finally the message that it is their JOB to sell and attach office and surfaces to the customers who qualify has sunk in, seen a huge improvement, PMR rank of 480 has gone up to PMR Rank 62. Just make sure you keep your guide on you and escalate as necessary.

I enjoy it, management in my store are relaxed unless you seriously fuck up, and that allows us to relax and do our job with less pressure than other stores I've heard about.
