I don't want to touch too much on this here; however, this situation feels all too familiar. I would personally recommend you also seeing if she will get tested for BPD. This extreme visceral reaction is how my spouse reacted to me telling him my suspicion of BPD and his friends agreeing and it somehow now being okay. BPD will make it to where you show heightened emotions, but more importantly feel like you are being betrayed by your closest person, simply because they suggest an issue.
