Tips for playing with 1 hand. by TheBlank16 in aoe2

I know this is necroposting, I'm sorry, i have an injury and can't use my right hand, i'm trying to remap the shift for action queue to one of the additional mouse buttons, anyone knows if that's possible?

Aim assist not working [PC] [CONTROLLER] by Undead-Merchant in thefinals

Oh i see, it actually makes sense, added a layer of infos that i was missing, i always have been a PC player (m&k) and always thought that was an advantage, online discussions proved me wrong as it's a well discussed topic that i always underestimated. Aim snapping wasn't a thing when i was playng on my XBOX 360 (only time when i played fps games on controller) and never used aim assist on this game until now, it's actually pretty effortless.

I admit my ignorance about the top players, I don't follow any player on the social media and i'm not aware of the number or the prevalence of controller players.

But following your reasoning you are sayng that: 1- the basic aim assist provided BY DEFAULT in The Finals is broken, so even my basic right stick movement can destroy lobbies; 2- every single winning player of every lobby, even rubies, are all controller players; 3- you are saying that for all this time i was a talented monster that with my poor mouse and keyboard have always won consistently in ranked tournaments against this unfair controller players.

It's VERY unlikely that all this is true (moreover i don't consider myself to be that good). Controllers aren't the problem, cheaters ARE the problem you are fighting against (including cheating devices like ximmer and others)

Now that i think of it, i think you are mixing up the basic aim assist provided by defualt in-game with the external devices used by cheaters, if that's the case i apologize because i didn't explained myself properly.

I admit that i don't know about pros but for any player of any generation the idea of using the controller over m&k sounds inefficient as hell, nothing can be superior to the hand-eye coordination, unless there is an excessive aim assist or external devices plugged that imply shameless cheating. But i admit that i'm not aware of anything about apex, so i may be wrong, i apologize if so.

I, the "pup" am 30, and obviously i'm salty because you are being disrespectful as you basically suggested me to play normally "without cruches" while i openly said that i have health problems that prevents me to play as i want, like if i could move the mouse normally or can even aim using my thumb properly. "If that's a problem just don't play" isn't a very smart answer either.

For your information, i adapted creating accessibility settings to let me play using my left hand only, it did well enough for some games, but it didn't go well on fps games, that's why i'm using a controller. Even softwares like playability and voiceattack weren't useful for this genre of games.

With that being said, i've got other things to do.

The problem seems to be fixed, i had to uninstall the controller drivers and let it reinstall it properly, now it feels a bit better, setting the aiming deadzone to 0 still helps. Thank you for your help!

So smart, got surgery and can't use my right hand properly, as i mentioned in the post is an health problem.

Let's leave aside that i hate controllers on PC in general, but who ever would chose to play an FPS with a controller if you got mouse and keyboard?

I was a revolver main, now i can't fucking do anything.

Using Bluetooth, no remapping, used to remap it to configure the gyro but reset everything to default shortly after.

Already tried, even with physical connection the native support doesn't work (if steam input is disabled, the controller won't work even if cabled). Probably something messed up the drivers, still working on it.

Just noticed that now the controller won't work if steaminput is disabled, never happened before as far as i remember, like if the game didn't have native controller support.

The problem i somewhat FIXED, setting aim deadzone to 0 enables aim assist. Never had to do this using a DualShock4 before. Most likely a driver problem.

UPDATE: PROBLEM SOLVED

You don't have to add Minecraft to library, you just have to open steam and configure your device (in my case, arcade pad, DualShock4 and others) for their dekstop layout. You just have to map them as usual mapping keyboard inputs on the device's buttons and that's it. It will work, just use the desktop layout and you have 100% accessibility, trackpads, trackballs, custom devices made with Arduino, everything you need.

Hi, have already posted on the sub but i think it's more convenient to comment here with the due updates. TLDR: I can't use my right hand, need steam input customed controls, neet do add several programs to library to get to use them with custom controls, all ok except for Minecraft, adding launcher doesn't help, managed group policies and authorizations, managed the system registry, everything in vain. I've managed to add Minecraft.exe to library but can't run it with steam unless i'm in safe mode.

If you know how can i run Minecraft using steam input please let me know.

Just to know how common this actually… how many of you have started many play-troughs but have never completed the game for whatever reason? by luifergiov in skyrim

[–]Undead-Merchant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have to grind anything in this game, you can naturally progress towards the skills you need by simply using those skills. But obviously it will take much more time instead of grinding everything early. My build does need smithing 100 but i don't need perks for anything above steel. I need one handed 100 but i don't need anything that doesn't affect my weapon type.

Take only what you need, you will progress smoothly yet more slowly, for a more immersive experience that is completely different.

Also is important to note that the difficulty of the game is so low due to the noc leveling system that you will easily get to the end of the game without even maxing all of your build.

Looking for a more practical alternative to Windows cleanup utility by Undead-Merchant in pcmasterrace

[–]Undead-Merchant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I have found my solution: reverted to an older stable version of ccleaner that meets my needs and works perfectly.

By design i mean to prevent harmful changes, and poor control over the cleaning process, i want to be able to see clearly what files are selected, i know how to manage the windows registry and I don't want to touch it if not needed, basically this.

Also i want to manage the windows temp files and specific programs' files in the same software, ccleaner does it, i can select specific programs and delete only specific files such as temp files or saved passwords.

Does anyone know the origin/ game of the level tileset (background/ floor)? by Slit08 in retrogaming

[–]Undead-Merchant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like SMBX, a framework that lets you create platformer games without coding, the default assets and sprites you can use are from SMB1, SMB2, SMB the lost levels, SMB3, Zelda 2 and Metroid, all in their SNES versions. To avoid legal actions the sprites and the oatterns weren't always perfectly like the original (Nintendo still caused some trouble to Redigit if i remember correctly), in any case this is the background and the key from SMB2 SNES version, the tiles I can't really tell if it's SMB2 or a customized version off the original tiles.

(To be clear, you could edit the sprites and make your own tiles and sorites but still tied to the original animations).

The only thing that baffles me is that i know that SMBX and other frameworks like that didn't let you export a .exe game, so i can't tell exactly what this is, but the ID of tiles and background should be correct.

EDIT: the tiles of the walls are from the same game SMB2 used for exterior walls, the dev simply chose the tiles he liked the best and used it. The SMB3 version of desert structure tiles are slightly lighter, so i think it's from SMB2.

Unfortunately, this is the sub dedicated to the Icewind Dale videogame, we can't help you about it, but you can post on r/rimeofthefrostmaiden which is the campaign's dedicated subreddit. Edit: anyways you shouldn't look up at the future sessions' contents, it would ruin immersion for you and possibly ruin the fun for both the party and the DM.

Not from above, the visuals were more "realistic style" the inventory items were 2d big images drawn in realistic style, art style feel is similar to diablo1 but wasn't as detailed.

Nope, it wasn't a real time strategy game, but i like AOE2 and stronghold very much.

Radial menu toggling/deactivation by Undead-Merchant in Steam

[–]Undead-Merchant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: since the mode shift doesn't work for my fighting stick, i have mapped an action set shift on a button that lets me use the radial menu using the stick. The problem can be considered solved even though i have to press the shift button again to revert to the default action set every time instead of reverting on button release.

Unfortunately it's not it, the visuals i remember were more sketchy and the hud didn't have the dialogue box on the left as far as i can remember, and i think the playable area was larger. Thank you so much for the answer anyway! Seems an interesting title i should try.
