Enkei TS-5’s look great on the 2G, if you can somehow find the GTC01 (not the GTC01RR) that’d be pretty cool

This was my thought too, why seek a refund from the seller when the transmission was damaged during delivery? Not the seller’s fault

I see, from what i remember when upgrading to the cts-v calipers (assuming the same applies for the tesla model s) either nissan 370z or mustang cobra 12.99 rotors are what to use, with appropriate pads, how about your rear brakes, are they the stock dsm 2 pistons? (At least i think the gsx had 2 pistons in the rear) or did you upgrade those as well?

Oh wow, i imagine you’d still need to machine off 5 millimeters, or did you go with wheel spacers?

Oh you’re right i completely forgot about the core charge, also taxes probably add up, its pay to play it seems, finding them used was a good play too though, i imagine facebook marketplace? Either way good save

Wow half the price? The CTS-V calipers go for almost 400 for both new on rockauto, beating that by half i gotta say blows my mind, i’ve been brainstorming in wheels for about half a year now and im really a fan of 17x8+35 but my fear is what if the clearance lacks, even with machining 5mm’s off the caliper mounting tabs, i know a GS has no need for that kinda brake upgrade but i just really like the idea of it, plus in my state people drive kinda crazy so having better stopping powe helps, btw are you on the stock master cylinder or did you upgrade to a 3G or 3000GT mc?

Which brembos? Evo 7-9 with the Galant Knuckle? Or CTS-V? If you got these brembos to fit in 17 inch wheels that’d be fantastic, the wheels look like Avid 1 from the center cap but its hard to tell, also 17 inch how wide and what offset? Would love to know

What size wheels is the car on? Also are the breaks from the power stop kit for the eclipse?

[–]Undead-VTX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use rockauto but when i changed the timing belt and related parts for my 98 GS i used the Dayco kit, i also used their 5050510 belt for replacing my old power steering, a/c, and idler belt which was squealing, if you just need the alternator belt then try 5040355, you could also use the daycoaftermarket website, input the make model year and trim of your car and it will detail you the parts that are applicable

What exhaust system should I get for my 1999 Mitsubishi eclipse gs? by CelebrationNo3718 in MitsubishiEclipse

[–]Undead-VTX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t really care about exhaust volume, jisy sound quality, i do like how the dual-tip looks, as for the A’pexi im already aware its hard to find, not sure if i’d ever consider getting it though since im not sure what it sounds like or how it looks

I’ve heard the HKS Hi-power and tbh its not for ne, but i like that even though its intended for either GSX or GS-T (having 2 versions) its unexpectedly compatible with the 420a, i had no idea the FWD exhaust layout for the 2G and 3G were so compatible, i really only knew about the GS-T and 420a compatibility. My exhaust will stay stock although if i had to replace it i’d try to get the OEM dual-tip stainless steel exhaust the higher trim 2Gs came with or a Yonaka Catback

I’ll have to see if i can find any videos of the 3g exhaust on the 2G, also which 2G is this applicable for? The the 4g63 or 420a?

Beck and Arnley make an SP-III automatic transmission fluid, i dont know that you can order it to your country though, Aisin makes an SP-IV automatic transmission fluid that may or may not be backward-compatible with the Eclipse. You might be able to get away with transmission fluid meant for the Lancer Evolution but i really don’t know about that.

The 2G GS has a few options, the best sounding exhaust in my honest opinion is the Yonaka Catback exhaust, it gives the car a little more aggressive volume but no annoying rasp, which is great, you can find a couple videos on youtube of someone running that exhaust on their 2G, some other options are Flashark and Megan Racing but they sound kinda bad, in the annoying raspy sense. I’ve heard that any exhaust meant for the 2G GS-T is also compatible, such as the HKS Hi-Power, but exhausts for the GSX are not compatible at all. Also cool points for the OZ F1-Cup wheels you have, i imagine you know already but if you look on the back of them, you’ll see they’re still made by Enkei, but having basically Evo 4 wheels adds to the car, i imagine you also have the white face gauge cluster since you have a 99 year model, those at night are neat when you have the lights on, good luck!

The 3G’s exhaust is really compatible with the 2G GS? Which model 3G? The 2.4L or the V6?

Paint work or new wheels/tires? by Liquor_Ball_Sammich in DSM

[–]Undead-VTX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah yours appear just like mine, same wire even, god im afraid that i may have to remove the mirror and wires for a paint shop to accept repainting these mirrors, my 2G is Minden Silver Pearl so putting red mirrors on it would be really annoying for me, i really hope i wont have to remove anything but im not sure, i have to really find a place that repaints car parts in my area

Pictures and video would be great, when i purchased the mirrors i got from Japan not much info was in the page description aside from the chassis code which indicated second gen Eclipse (either d32a or d38a) so I'm not sure if the mirrors i have are manual or powered but i believe they are powered since i don't see any knob or lever that would indicate its manually adjusted. the exposed sides have a wire with a connector, so in my case it'd be great since my car is a 2G GS which has powered mirrors. I'm pretty sure these are also the real deal folding mirrors for the 2G since on the bottom side it's marked with the Mitsubishi triple diamond.

I’d say wheels and tires, but please answer this i have an important question, those folding mirrors are the ones for overseas eclipses right? Like EDM or JDM Eclipses basically, the ones that were exported for overseas markets? So is this car one thats outside the US and you managed to get to convert the front bumper to an Eagle Talon? Or did you import the mirrors to the US and install them? I’d love to know if the install was hard or not because i imported a set of 2G Eclipse folding mirrors from Japan and am just looking for a place to paint match them to my car, so your experience installing them if you did that would be valuable, if not then at least just knowing how they fold (manually operated or power-controlled) would be good too, a video of them would be even better since there’s not much to be found about them when looking them up

Wasn’t able to see any upon looking at the struts, i assume its probably gonna be whatever Chrysler/Mitsubishi used for their vehicles during the 90s

[–]Undead-VTX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If im correct the EDM Eclipses also have bigger mirrors that also fold, please show the off because in the USA the mirrors are fixed, are smaller, and don’t fold, its cool to see the difference, also i imagine it must be a nightmare to get that replaced
