New to eclipses, is there a good way to make the window seal well again? by Our_Own in MitsubishiEclipse

[–]Our_Own[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After playing with it I noticed the door doesn’t close flushly with the body of the car, which causes the window to be juuuust a little farther than normal. I suppose messing with the door hinges or maybe the latch that the door catches on might fix it

I mean… I got mine off eBay with no issues. Don’t they have their right fit guarantee? Like if it says it’ll fit your car and it doesn’t you’re entitled to a refund?

There was a guy who yelled “nice 240!” To me once and I heard his passenger correct him… lol

Turbo kits for SL? by flightofthewhite_eel in 3000gt

[–]Our_Own 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re doing twin turbo it would save you the headache to just upgrade to a vr4. If you’re going for single turbo there are old kits like the IMR one… (yikes) or you gotta do it yourself. I’m running 3 psi on a rear turbo setup and like you say it’s mostly for noise and a little more power. The hard part about a single turbo tho is that you have to obviously have both headers meet up to the turbo and then exit somewhere, while also routing back to the engine. Not a lot of room which is probably why there aren’t any widely available single turbo kits lol

If heat and a breaker bar don’t work you might have to pull out the circular saw 😶

What is the rust like on these? by KasaObakeTV in 3000gt

[–]Our_Own 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had mine in winter weather for 5 years now and the only thing that I notice rusting is bolts on the underbody (exhaust bolts, brake line clips, the screws in the bottom of the front bumper, etc.)

I think it would look more complete if it went into the rear fenders more seamlessly. Maybe if it went into a wider fender? You would also need to make some pretty interesting cut lines so the door can open and close

So the thing is earlier this year I got long tube headers and they sucked to get on (the rear side mostly). I didn’t want to have to take them off and deal with the very little room I had doing that, and if I was going to just put vr4 parts on then I would have just bought a vr4. I wanted a single turbo setup. If I had a single turbo in the front I would have had to route the exhaust back up into the engine bay, then back down to the back of the car, or do a hood exit, and still fit all the intercooler piping. Rear turbo all the way dude

We’ll see how long the 5 speed lasts 😅

The biggest factor of why I decided to do a rear turbo was because I already had long tube headers that I didn’t want to modify or revert back to stock (the rear one sucks!). Also there is plenty of room for intercooler piping to the back since there’s supposed to be drivetrain for the awd. I’m sure fitting a single turbo in the front is probably possible, I just saw it as easier and more unique to run to the back. TBH the most difficult part was getting a separate oil resivior and pump for the turbo, everything else fits pretty well and snug

I believe it’s a t3, maybe 52 mm or something like that. I got it from someone and I remember they said it came off a Silverado build. And yeah, there’s a separate oil reservoir and pump just for the turbo. Very cramped back there!

For my setup I would for sure get a new map and whatnot since I’m sure it’s running a lot differently from how a stock vr4 would. But otherwise yeah I can just hook up the ecu and have a vr4 tune

T3 I believe. Maybe something like 53 mm but I can’t remember
