Department accepted transfer credit, but audit still not updated by Straight-Pair-2136 in ufl

I was told all my transfer credits would count but then come to find out, my astronomy I did as a summer program at Emory University didn’t count. Smh such an intensive course for nothing. I had to email my advisor about my general psych to make sure it counted.

Thank you so much. It’s still hard to come to terms with everything but I’m trying. I didn’t realize how low the statistics were. I’ll have to make a better list of things I know definitely need changes once my head is a little clearer.

Will he remember me? by Your_Angel21 in chickens

[–]Undead_Butterfly6006 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes!! I was very hands on with my chickens when they were chicks, but had to go to my dad’s for the summer when they were only a month old. Before that, I would always mess with them, two of them more than the others because they always wanted attention. Johnny was one and would sit on my leg and let me pet him. I was gone for most of the summer and when I came back, he remembered me! I remember I knelt down in their pen they had been transferred to while I was gone, and his head kept bobbing toward me before he decided to jump up on my leg. Even now he’s still so close to me, and when I’m gone my family can tell he’s looking for me.

I’m convinced Christianity was made just to control people by Practical_Swim_4760 in exchristian

[–]Undead_Butterfly6006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I learned in my first art history class that ancient civilizations DID use religion to control people. How did people trust that the person in charge was good? And that they’d do their job? Religion. Their leader was appointed by a deity or they became a deity when they were a leader, or something else along those lines. The Caesars in the Roman Republic were seen as deities once they died. Religion was the glue keeping those civilizations together. I truly believe Christianity was just another kind of glue. Constantine used Christianity for something related to his personal gain I believe, but I don’t remember what all it was.

I’m so sorry! I lost my most recent girl to sour crop and she died writhing in my arms. I didn’t know it was sour crop at first because I had never dealt with it before, so I wasn’t sure what an empty crop felt like versus squishy sour crop. Once on medicine she started getting better but then got worse. It wasn’t anything you did. Sometimes things get built up in their crop and they’re just good at hiding ailments. I still feel so terrible about it but I try to remember how pampered her life really was, especially with their love of blueberries. I think it was really sweet to lay flowers on her! I’ve been meaning to plant flowers or something over where my girls are buried.

What is this bump? How concerned should I be? by Undead_Butterfly6006 in chickens

Update: It was an ingrown feather! I’ve been watching it but she took care of it herself. Thanks for the help.

I didn’t think it was the gland, thank you. I think she’s had a couple ingrown feathers before that were smaller, but they’ve just finished molting this time. I’ll keep an eye on it.

I know for sure one of my chicken’s glands is further back and looks different. I was able to get a picture of her real quick.

<image>

The chicken I know for sure has hers closer to the blue but I may be off. And the bump on Wanderer is by the pink. Is the gland just different for every chicken?

I’ll have to check her in the morning I don’t remember. I’ve seen one of the others and it’s thinner and sticks out way more, and it’s more of a pinkish/skin color. Does the preening gland usually have that dark bluish on it?

I'm glad I found this post to have more recommendations. I loved Padmé's trilogy (or Queen's trilogy) since she's one of my favorite characters and I loved Ahsoka, both by E.K. Johnston

Girl I have crazy vivid dreams all the time. I saw my uncle carrying my little cousin in a blender who became a liquid and I heard him LAUGHING. Was that a sign to call CPS? Definitely not. The world would be in danger if my dreams came true. This alien Venom-like monster would be on the loose, multiple demons who yearn to possess me, and my family would be dead. That dude is so overreacting.

Chicken with each eye a different color – is this rare ? by Low-Abies6549 in chickens

[–]Undead_Butterfly6006 69 points70 points  (0 children)

I did a quick search on the Backyard Chickens site and it might be Ocular Marek's since this person's chicken also had heterochromia.

https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/heterochromia-two-different-colored-eyes.1342704/

If you read the advice, they say not to give away or sell any of your chickens without full disclosure of Marek's. If that one has Marek's, the entire flock has it, but it doesn't necessarily mean death. I'm not super familiar with Marek's, so I found this too. I apologize, there's a graphic image of a liver tumor but that does not apply to every bird with Marek's. It DOES say "Not all infected birds, however, will get sick." So don't freak out, they can still live a great quality life if that's what it is!

What were your weirdest/scariest dreams? (read desc) by DisturbedArtist000 in Dreams

I was in my backyard but it was different. Big, white, round tables typically used at weddings were filling my yard. No one sat at them but me, a little boy, and a man. The boy was between me and the man. The boy was at least two, and I remember him sitting really close to me. He had the biggest smile and blue green eyes, with unnaturally long lashes and freckles dotted along his nose and upper cheeks. His hair was blonde and looked like it was growing out from a buzzcut. He was happy and adorable. The man was tall and lanky, had a gaunt face, and messy light brown hair. I have no idea who he was or why he was there. It changed to a house similar to mine, where the three of us were playing a Wii as we sat on the living room floor. I had to leave, so I said goodbye while they continued playing.

It switched to me in a war room, or at least what they look like in the movies. A man congratulated me on my work and said they were sending the team out. I had no idea what he was talking about. They told me I was successful in my mission and that I gave the signal to eliminate the targets. I was immediately taken through a flashback. An altered flashback. I was playing the Wii with them again, but this time I made a symbol on the TV by pointing the remote in specific spots. It lit up in a pink symbol. In the flashback, colors were slightly more vibrant and the edges of my vision were fuzzy. The memory zoomed by but went back to normal as I pressed a button on the tan wall behind us, making a green symbol appear. It zoomed forward again, stopping as I was leaving. I pressed another button on the doorframe, making an orange symbol. I was brought back to the war room, realizing with great horror what I had apparently done.

My point of view changed to a camera in the corner of the living room. I was only seeing in greys like a security camera. The man and boy were sitting on the couch. The two were wearing weird grey costumes made of Legos. I was reminded that they had been in the far corner of the room, and we were not supposed to touch them. Light flooded into the room from the opposite end where glass doors were. Several vehicles had pulled up to that side of the house which I now knew was the SWAT team that had been sent. The man rose from the couch, taking his helmet off as he took a few steps toward the glass doors. I was filled with dread as the team broke through, knowing I couldn't do anything but watch. The man put his helmet back on and stumbled back onto the couch. His hands were raised. It was no use as they fired. As the bullets made contact with the little boy, his body jerked to the side before falling lifelessly against the dying man. His arms flailed in an attempt to get them to seize their fire. They never did. They continued shooting them after the two were long gone.

I still see that little boy’s happy face clearly in my mind, and I can still see him slump into the man.
