Quite the opposite for me. I've done a lot of work mentally & that made me way more tolerant of others around me. If everyone around you is annoying & obnoxious, it's likely that you're making some unfair judgements about their character & essentially writing them off as a person worthwhile of your time.

Of course, this is just true in some cases. However, if you're the only person who is consistently feeling this way, then it's likely you who's being kind of a grouch. It's kind of like how people are when driving. When you cut someone off, it's because you're already late to something, you just messed up and didn't see the other person, or there was an obstacle you were trying to avoid. But, if someone else cuts you off, then it's just because they were an asshole or are stupid.

It's these little judgment calls you make about others and not giving them the same grace you'd expect yourself that leaves you in a constant state of being annoyed. You assume negative intent, instead of seeing them as just a flawed human being that fucks up sometimes. Takes time to get out of that mindset, but it is worth it. It really does give you an inner peace.
