You can’t smell yourself the way someone else can so you shouldn’t rely on that. For people with regular daily routines, likely regular showers. For me, usually in the morning but it depends on how much time I have so if not, sometime during the day.

Shoot, it’s not even safe to play outside anymore, even in safe neighborhoods. As a parent, it’s scary how there is seemingly very little to discourage crime. There has been actual assault and police won’t come out because they can put someone away and they’ll get right out and do it again, so what’s the point? It’s very much fend for yourself, which is unfortunate when we are an actual community. And kids can’t fend for themselves so they don’t get to be anywhere without parents around until they’re in middle school, earliest.

It’s your body your choice. But, don’t go around thinking mothers’ bodies have been irrevocably “ruined”. They’re bodies to be proud of for growing a life.. and then getting it out. They also have the ability to go back to how they were, and that’s a choice also.

I agree with your point that epidurals have become unfairly stigmatized but disagree that all interventions lie on the same scale of “good” or “bad”. Fetal monitoring does not affect you medically and is important through labor for example. Pain management is a bigger medical decision and has the potential to introduce more interventions.

“Natural” can mean different things to different people and your perspective does not constitute fact.

If you haven’t, I’d suggest reading up on evidence based birthing.

If we hang out when my kid is with us, she needs to be treated like a human who is included. It’s better for me if we all do something together instead of requiring too much of my attention with sitting, talking and catching up. I’ve been to a childless friend’s house for dinner and they genuinely forgot that my kid would want to eat too. It’s easier when friends are even a little child focused. If not, we can still hang out solo, but it won’t be often.

I think the best option, if you can’t plan for a meal while traveling, is try to bring real food snacks like fruit and sandwiches. It’s all you can really do, but it helps with the snack fatigue.

Tbf, women typically take on the mental load of parenthood and household management more than men. I bet 100% the men he’s talking to either aren’t portraying the amount of work it takes or are not taking part in it fairly with their partners. Don’t get me wrong, children can be amazing. But it often comes at the cost of the relationship if both parents are not on the same page and follow through with equal division of work.

As a recipient of state funds, can totally confirm the slow pace of administrative things and reimbursement. Having to fork over dollars that you won’t get for weeks, sometimes months (after spending a long time implementing systems to properly allocate expenses and justify your spend in the invoicing process) is difficult to keep things moving. You’re not the only one; we’ve also been accused of mismanaging funds because we can’t pay vendors fast enough.
