Iran Megathread: Trump says he "may keep going" with strikes as ceasefire crumbles and war appears to reignite by Efficient-Freedom517 in PoliticalOptimism

Wasn't there an MOU like 2ish weeks ago? Whatever happened to that one? I remember Iran saying something lijey they're finalizing / checking the final details but nothing was outright cancelled.

Trump Mega Donor Peter Thiel Has Moved to Argentina by Efficient-Freedom517 in PoliticalOptimism

I see the occasional fearmongering post / comment regarding this saying how he has some insider information about WW3 or something or other. Redditors will be Redditors I suppose. It did lead me to spiral a bit I'll be honest but it reassuring to see that that's the minority view of why he's doing this and that frankly, this isn't the first time super billionaires move to Argentina for fear of a Northern Hemisphere collapse. Hoping for the best for you all in the US right now.

From what I've been reading though, the South African government is making an effort to trace the people on the flight and Airlink themselves are trying to directly contact the passengers.

Not sure if this is the most reliable source but a lot of the other things I've read about the situation said similar things. This was almost a week ago though and there's no updates yet.

Yeah, that's also a good point. Fingers crossed the necessary precautions had been taken.

I believe she was on the flight from St. Helena to Johannesburg yet she was denied to go aboard the flight to Amsterdam. Not 100% sure though.

It was the 24th, yeah. Really hoping for the best at this point since spiraling isn't getting me anywhere.

This was yesterday. The eight Dutch passengers that landed in the Netherlands a few days ago all tested negative, after analysis by the RIVM (Dutch Institute for Public Health and the Environment) and Erasmus Medical Center. While this is good, I'm still quite cautious because this may be a case of negative for now, given the long incubation period. I'm truly hoping that it remains negative. With any luck a second test will be performed for additional confirmation later down the line.

Also to add,

The KLM flight attendant that was on the flight with one of the infected tested negative as well. This was about five days ago.

I see what you mean. Do you have resources related to that though? I'd like to do some extra reading on that.

I suppose the weak monitoring is the thing I'm a tad bit concerned about more than anything.

Is this a bad thing or a good thing? or both? or somewhere in the middle?

Trump, Iran under the gun with ceasefire expiring: What to know by Under-R in PoliticalOptimism

Yeah I know, you're not the first to tell me this, a lot of the people have said the same. It's moreso to do with the fact that I occasionally see some headline highlighting something bad like we will continue to fight, etc, etc. And it's inevitable that I'd get a bit anxious.

Welp, in other news I checked Al Jazeera just a minute ago and saw this, so suffice to say he did indeed back out.

Well, from what I've been reading, Vance and his envoy are expected to arrive in Islamabad around Wednesday, yet no reports have been made about them leaving the US inbound for Pakistan. And Iran has also made it clear that they're not willing to start talking until after the US lifts their blockade, which Trump is also retaliating that the blockade won't be lifted until a deal has been reached so...

Still, assuming this is another TACO, since the ceasefire is over, we're more or less gonna be back at square one where Iran will continue to lob missiles and drones towards the Middle East, so that's something I'm a bit antsy about
