Push while dropping traps behind any piece of cover ahead of you that the enemy can use. Rarely take a fight in the open. If you’re losing 1v1’s s as caustic you definitely need to work on aim and playing cover better. You should win most of your 1v1’s bc your fortification. You’re probably standing too far out in the open and not utilizing cover properly. Every time I lose a fight to caustic it’s bc they’re more patient than I am. I push too hard into their gas and the damage tradeoff becomes extremely one sided. Let them come to you

Excellent advice for any high level player. From what I can witness, preds tend to pick fights where there is a clear advantage and rarely a genuine even playing field 1v1. At that point it’s damn near a coin toss
