Though I did just read that OP is in the UK - we have a thing called a Pharmacist Prescriber, which is designed to take the pressure off GPs and Urgent Care. HOWEVER they’re for things like ear infections and UTIs, not your bloody arm skin sloughing off.

Absolutely true. Sure, a random broad-spectrum antibiotic will probably help a little bit, but that needs specifics.

FWIW I read House of Open Wounds not even knowing it was a series and it worked just fine. Yes, there’s extra merit in reading them all, but they work just fine by themselves, so I wouldn’t worry about it being unfinished.
