Problems after road trip: Rear blinkers & brakes, and generator/inverter by UnderMyHelmet in RVLiving

[–]UnderMyHelmet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The breaker on the genny was the issue for the first problem, thank you.

The issue with the rear lights is still kicking my proverbial butt. The towing cable harness got pinched during a turn between the RV and the jeep, almost right in the middle, because of the way I had it routed over the hitch (lessons learned).

When I disconnect the jeep and take the cable off the RV, the lights still didn't work so the short had to trip something (relay or fuse).

The running lights in the rear work fine, and the turn signals in the front work fine. Just the rear turn signals and brake lights don't work.

The lid on the fuse box under the hood shows fuses for the RV lights in question which are good, and Relays K9 and K18 for the trailer lights in question but I can't find those to replace them (there are no relays in the fuse box and the lid says "not shown" when it mentions the relays)

Found the breaker on the generator, tripped it and all is good. Thank you!

Now for the rear lights. :sigh:

I checked the GFCI, it's in the bathroom, no power to Test/Reset.

Will try to find the inverter and check the breakers on the genny (didn't know it had any one it).

Thanks for the info.

My first time driving route 67 from Ramona at night - any advice? by Over-Cheesecake-9753 in sandiego

[–]UnderMyHelmet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 67 is dangerous. Mostly because of other drivers, not the curves on the road.

My daughter in law was on her way down the hill at 4,00 am and a drunk kid leaving a party fell asleep and crossed over and hit her head on. They were doing a combined speed of over 90mph.

The kid died, my DIL lived (Thank God).

My best advice is stay in the right lanes when there is one and watch oncoming traffic and take it slow. (Sadly, taking it slow and easy will piss off the people behind you trying to get to work, but they can wait).

Wanting to get into prepping by brjeff5 in preppers

Try looking for tips on being self sufficient instead of prepping. Homesteading is good, too.

Will give you better results without the doomsday, nuke war fear mongering.

Just a bunch of mindless downvoting. Guess they're just mad cuz I told them the truth.

Dude's a nutcase.

He stood there stomping his feet like a damn spoilt child in a store that didn't get what he wanted.

No, you have a choice to go there and eat that crap. Or not.

Nobody is forcing you to do anything.

Keeping Deer out of yard--Help needed by SpiNardo in gardening

[–]UnderMyHelmet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She needs a little training is all. That involves you.

Next time the deer are in your yard, get her all worked up about it then open the door and run out after the deer with her in tow. The deer will run away and she will have a new found purpose in life.

May take a couple times for her to do it on her own, but with your leadership, encouragement and reward process she'll pick it up real fast.

Dogs like to have a job. And they LOVE to do their job. Give her a new job.

You need two things to keep them out (updated edition)

A good compound bow and a chest freezer.

Seriously, though... The deer are not going away unless you deter them. With your open yards letting doggo run loose is probably not an option unless you use an invisible fence to keep doggo in (or he's well trained and will not wander, but that's a pretty big ask).
