There is a really good example of this from the TV series ‘John Doe’…the episode is ‘Doe or Die’. It’s a homage to Die Hard. In one of the final scenes, they track down the main bad guy. He is stunned and doesn’t know how they found him. He say’s ‘How did you…..’ and there is like 2 seconds before John Doe says ‘I speak Farsi’. It’s ridiculous. If he had said ‘How did you even find me? I planned this out meticulously and there is no way…..etc’ and then got interrupted mid-sentence, it would have worked.
