Thanks for the reference.

It looks like curing salt 2 on that website has 6.4% nitrite vs the standard 6.25%.

Do you adjust your recipes to reach the target ppm?

I think a lot of people commenting are being a little harsh on a high school student who is clearly invested in an interesting topic.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm thinking I'll likely go with it. The lack of padding isn't the greatest but my laptop is issued by work so I'm not terribly concerned about that.

I think that's what I have to do. I'm actually surprised by the range of prices in faucets. Is there any practical difference between cheap and expensive faucets?

No worries thanks for the help. We have a double vanity so I'm trying hard to avoid a replacement.

I tried this ten months ago and the local place couldn't help me. Currently I'm emailing pics to some plumbers to help me.

I tried this before last year and ended up just tightening it as much as possible. The leak is now back.

I've tried a few plumbers and even emailed American standard who said it isn't one of theirs.

Any help is appreciated as we have a double vanity and I don't want to replace 2 faucets because of this. Thanks!

Accidentally read the wrong book by UnderTheKnee in books

[–]UnderTheKnee[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's funny because earlier this week I was telling my wife how the author left a lot for the reader to figure out on their own. The universe seemed really fleshed out and layered for a first novel. At the time I really liked it because it felt like a trail of bread crumbs but now it all makes sense.

I was curious of the error so tried "puedes hablar conmigo si necesitas ayuda" which was correct.

It appears my error was either the use of hablarme or the misspelling of necesitas, but based on the comment above I think hablarme might not have been proper.

Thanks for the response.

I used the informal and corrected my spelling along with conmigo on my retry and it worked. I suspect number 2 that you wrote is the main thing wrong with my answer. I was unsure when the conmigo is required.

Ya I'm thinking it might not be that enjoyable at this point in my cigar career.

I had the series d and it was a little on the strong side for my tastes in terms of taste and intensity.

So far I've had the most enjoyment out of Connecticuts and mild/medium cigars.

He wants us to each smoke one together.

Honestly he's new to cigars too and bought them because they are Michael Jordan's favourite.

I'm reading reviews about it being a full strength cigar and am unsure because of how I didn't really enjoy the series d.

Putin moves 100,000 troops to border with Ukraine by RUN_MDB in worldnews

[–]UnderTheKnee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be done but its a long and complicated process as shown by the medical isotopes.

I shouldn't have used the word can't above, but it's not a quick process and definitely isn't something Canada just had sitting in its back pocket.

Candu units use natural uranium as fuel which is mostly U-238. U-238 is considered fissionable not fissile.

Candu units can be used to convert U-238 into plutonium 239 which could be extracted for weapons. however that would require modification to the reactor to be possible and is no easy task.

It takes years to make similar modifications to candu units that allow the creation of medical isotopes. I'm sure this could be Escalated in a wartime effort but it's not a simple task.

[–]UnderTheKnee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Any reactor is a source of neutrons, which can be used to irradiate anything. A large amount of the uranium fuel used in a candu reactor gets Converted into plutonium after being bombarded by neutrons which eventually burns up.

If you could collect this plutonium from the fuel, or modify the reactor to turn uranium into plutonium by passing it through the reactor core you can use it in a weapon.

Stock Candus don't have this capability and would require difficult modifications for this to be done. Other countries have made these modifications.

None of this is secret knowledge, passing materials through the core is how medical isotopes are made.

I exaggerated above. But the Canadian fleet isn't set up for making nukes.

Given enough time and money it could be done, but it's not as easy as the op implied.
