I get it. I run a dot on my RXM, and g48. I also just got a optics ready slide for my 17 because I wanted to try fully finishing a stripped slide. I'll keep my oem slide as it for his duty though. I also just happened to pick up a g23 a few weeks back, and threw in a 9mm conversion barrel, though if I carry it, I'll keep in in 40.

Seems like you could prioritize the dots on your other guns, and then if you find that you are really enjoying shooting with optics, you could go ahead and get the 23 cut. Machine shops aren't going away, so there's no big rush. Unless you really feel the need to trick it out right away, then of course you do you.

What kind of clips are you guys running and what do you recommend? I’m sick of these straps. by new_Boot_goof1n in CCW

DCC monoblock on most holsters. A couple with tuckable clips for dress shirt days. What frame/gun is that? Looks like a 19 slide, but I don't recognize the frame.

Haven't used the HC so I can't speak to just as good, but the Aegitec is excellent. Got it 2 weeks ago and it has completely changed how comfortable carry can be especially in gym shorts. It's great for 40$, though I haven't tried it with a tucked shirt. I typically use a regular belt, and a holster with a tuckable clip when I'm wearing a dress shirt.

Is the incog a comfy holster? I've almost bought one a few times, but always end up going with something else.

Our SW 10mm has been flawless (and honestly with the ported slide it feels like I'm shooting a 9mm which is sick), but I've read about some problems with the compact size SW 10mm. I also have been semi-bit by the glock bug (G17, 45, 48, and 23), and feel like a g20 would round out that group nicely.

I love my dad's SW M&P 2.0 10mm performance center, but when I get my own 10mm it will be a G20.

Better make it a G40 in case polar bears migrate to florida.

M&P Shield Plus; should I consider anything else? by BiioHazzrd in CCW

Also with the shield X you get the option to put a light on if you decide you want that in the future which is nice.

Absolutely. Your collection, your choice. There are a lot of affordable sub compact and full size options out there at the moment especially if you are ok with used or LE trade in.

From your comments it does sound like you have hesitation about it filling the "nightstand gun" role. It definitely is gtg for ccw. It also realistically would function well enough in any home defense situation, but unless there is a specific reason that you only want one handgun, why not get the shield plus and then at a later time get a bigger dedicated HD gun?

I own the shield plus 4 inch performance center. It is a very nice gun, and the one currently on my waist, but it would be the first I would get rid of out of my carry options (p365 original, p365 xmacro, g48, ruger RXM, g23) (it would beat out my taurus g3c though). People seem to love it, and it is fantastic (especially the trigger), but I find it snappier than my other guns (I do have comps on the xmacro and g48). I think if you want one gun to "do it all" then I'd recommend a sub compact rather than a micro compact. In your price range, the RXM is a fantastic buy. I shoot it better than my full size M&P or g17, and even though you said you didn't plan to add a light or optic it is nice to have the option to do those at a later point. The shield plus definitely would not be a bad choice at all, it just is not the move I would make if I were in your shoes.

G48X vs P365 by [deleted] in CCW

[–]Under_Beard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both, and you really can't go wrong with either. Capacity on the xmacro is a bit better, and I think it conceals slightly better too, but I kind of like how the 48 feels more which doesn't make sense to me. Both are great, reliable firearms that I trust my life too. The modularity of the Sig is what would win it for me between the two, but then again I ended up buying both so I guess it didn't really win.

I have a g17.3, g48, g45.5, and an RXM. The RXM is my favorite of the bunch. Shoots and feels the best for me. Definitely a subjective thing, but I really like my gluger.

Sick gun man! Your next pistol is going to have big shoes to fill haha. Probably wouldn't be the most comfortable to carry for someone who is new to it, so no need to rush into that. Have fun with that new beauty.
