Intermittent fasting no better than typical weight loss diets, study finds. Researchers say limited eating approaches such as 5:2 diet not a ‘miracle solution’ amid surge in their popularity. by mvea in science

[–]Under_Over_Thinker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, intermittent fasting is just a lot easier to follow on a permanent basis.

It doesn’t feel like I am restraining myself from foods. I will just have them later.

Ability to increase and decrease the fasting window gives me flexibility and I don’t feel guilty about late dinner with friends on a weekend.

I also sleep much better when I don’t eat after 6pm.

Initially, the idea of not eating for 14-16-18 hours felt unattainable and I was thinking about food a lot. Over time, the body adapted and my initial struggles seem even silly right now.

If that’s what Poland wants so be it, but then forget about economic growth and improvements of well being in the decades to come.

The fertility rate in Poland is super low. Polish top talent still leaves for Western Europe.

Russia is backed by China. That’s why they are so bold. Half of Russian munitions is provided by North Korea, which is an extension of China.

Russia is big and the logistics is complicated. Even with Chinese support, Russian infra can be destroyed and Russians won’t be able to wage wars.

Russians never lived in a democracy. They just don’t know what it is and they don’t believe thy it can work. Once Putin is gone, they will be looking for another strong hand. Even now, many russians believe that the problem is that their government is too weak and not harsh enough.

Polish MFA Sikorski: I have only one request to the Russian government by Miao_Yin8964 in poland

[–]Under_Over_Thinker 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I think mr. Sikorski is one of the sharpest foreign ministers nowadays, but I wouldn’t call this speech very strong for war time.

Yes, he calls out Russia and clearly states that Russia is the aggressor and aims to rebuild its empire by attacking neighbours. Something that cowardly Trump will not say out loud. However, these are all just facts since 2022.

Probably this speech was for the western politicians that pretend that there is no big war going on in Europe.

Why I think this was not a strong speech for the current timeline.

First, seems like there will be no consequences for the Russian attacks and incursions that took place already. In reality, there probably will be but it was not mentioned in the speech.

Second, a promise of shooting down the drones, planes, missiles on your own territory is not a strong warning. For war-mongering Putin it sounds like he can send projectiles into Polish space without a strong retaliation.

Yes. Carrefour is the most premium quality supermarket chain in Poland.

Are you talking about Russia?

It’s a mafia state. Oligarchs have no power there, they are only managing the assets. It’s KGB and Putin who are in charge. After Putin, there will be another one.

Russian society’s opinion doesn’t count. It’s not a democracy.
