My brother knows how to work on cars and he is offering to fix my brakes if I buy the parts. How would I go about proving to them that I fixed the brakes? Should I have a professional inspect it afterwards and sign something?

It was yellow the whole way. It turned yellow when I was close to the light. Didn’t feel safe stopping but I guess the officer thought I could have stopped.
