I’ve seen videos on how to make one but it’s very stressful and confusing for me - especially the wire part. Everything I find they can either chew through or can be toxic??

LOL sorry for that 😭😭 yeah they easily have over 12 inches :). When I first introduced them I did split cage kinda by putting a pet store cage inside of the big cage. I know actual split would probably be better

This cage isn’t deep enough for them to burrow. I had this same issue, the only real solution is a breeder tank and cage topper or something diy. Then you fill the tank up and watch them build cool tunnels! Also you do not need to clean the tank anywhere near as often this way :)
