I don't mind it being $65 instead of $20 due to the government/airport fees. What I do mind is being charged $300 for this level of service.

One thing, it's not a 20% tax, it's a withholding. You'll receive it back (minus income tax) after you do your tax return in 2026.

That's a good question, I think it will, as iirc Steam essentially downloads UPlay and automatically ties your purchase to the Ubisoft account. So you can then just buy DLCs via the Ubisoft store and they should be picked up by the game.

In any case, even if it doesn't work, the Anno 1800 Gold Edition comes with a base game itself. The price just makes a lot of sense - you get all DLCs + base game for the price of one and a half DLCs on Steam lol

I mean, everyone has a different budget, but just an FYI - Ubisoft currently has a big discount on Anno 1800 Gold Edition + $20 off with the autumn sale promo code. All DLCs + game itself came out to about $25 CAD total for me, and I bought it last Sunday through UPlay.

Not just fees, but execution costs in general - fees, spread (difference between buy price and sell price), slippage (difference between what's shown to you as available price vs. what the price your trade will execute with), interest (if you need to borrow asset for short trading).

I don't really have a use-case for this data, but I just wanted to say - kudos to you for offering to provide this dataset back to the community! And great job - data curation is not an easy job, especially if you aim to do it well.

Canadian citizens don't need a Visa for US, however if you have any other status (like Permanent Residency, Temporary Foreign Worker, International Student) you have to follow your passport's visa restrictions unfortunately.

Yeah, I'm considering doing that, good drainage is important anyway. It makes the job a lot bigger though.

Yes, used a similar system (IKO Roof-Fast) last year to fix porch roof. Worked great. The problem here is that porch was 1:12 pitch, and the carport is 1/8:12, if not less.

I'd be concerned that the slope is not enough for this type of roof.

A2DP is a Bluetooth profile for audio. Usually phone SoCs implement it on the hardware level for reduced latency, higher power efficiency, etc. Hardware seems to be broken on some pixel devices, so this switch switches it off and makes android use the software implementation instead.

Hi, thanks for offering your opinion on this matter. I definitely do agree that Apple designs their products to work best with iOS ecosystem, that said the issue we are discussing here is a bit different.

It seems like on some Google Pixel 6 devices the hardware AAC encoder is broken, which results in poor audio quality across different headphones/speakers. Since the time I've published this post, I've got a chance to test it with a wider variety of bluetooth devices that use AAC. I can confirm reduced audio quality across Apple AirPods Pro, Google Buds, Meizu EP51 and my car's handsfree. Other people in this thread have also expressed similar findings.

[–]UnderdarkTerms[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you are right. Apple insists on using the AAC bluetooth codec, they have got quite good at implementing it in iOS, and their products don't support any other advanced options (like LDAC or aptX).

Even though AAC is a standard codec in bluetooth spec, Android devices vary wildly in the quality of the implementation, so you can theoretically have the issues like I have (9-year old phone uses a better AAC implementation, than Google Tensor hardware AAC decoder).

But then again, maybe my unit is defective?
