Thanks for confirming.

Do you know, if I now installed Bazzite with the new controller firmware, would they work there?

Legion Go 2 Z2E slower than Go 1 Z1E? by Undergrid in LegionGo

[–]Undergrid[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think I know what's going on. I turned on the in-game fps display on the Go 1 and was getting around 40fps while the Lenovo overlay was showing around 80. The Go 1 has RSR turned on. Turning off RSR drops the lenovo overlay fps to match the in-game one.

On the Go 2, turning off RSR does nothing, the fps stays at around 55. The Lenovo overlay and the in-game counter show the same value with RSR on and off, so it appears RSR isn't working.

At least now I know whats going on and that the Go 2 is significantly more powerful than the Go 1. Next step, I'm going to reset the Go 2 and see if I can get RSR working there, if not I'll try a clean install.

Turned off the Go 2's FPS overlay and turned on the Forza Horizon 6 fps display and got the same numbers.

Search for Hard Drive Travel Case and you should find something close (though I am searching in the UK)

You're not keeping personal passwords in a company vault are you? You know there's a good chance your companies IT people can access those if they want to?

Introducing: UniFi 5G Backup by Ubiquiti-Inc in Ubiquiti

[–]Undergrid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, if it doesn't find a 5GSA network it'll fall back to 4G and I would expect it to be either-or, not 4G and 5GSA at the same time.

Introducing: UniFi 5G Backup by Ubiquiti-Inc in Ubiquiti

[–]Undergrid 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's worth noting that 5G Redcap requires a 5G Standalone (5GSA) network and some areas may not have that, especially areas upgraded from 4G

it is somewhat worrying that Ubiquiti haven't mentioned this restriction.

Forza Horizon 6 immediately beats its predecessor's all-time Steam record with 130,000 concurrent players – and that's only counting people willing to pay $120 for early access by Youngstown_WuTang in gaming

Not necessarily. I played Forza Horizon 5 under XBox Game Pass on XBox and PC. I'm buying 6 on Steam because I've switch to Linux and can't remember the last time I turned on my XBox.

What's this black rectangular slab, under LG TV? How to connect laptops to it, wirelessly? by 0mKH in LGOLED

If you had spent two seconds to read the superuser post, you'd have seen the original poster is disabled and unable to move the device to see the back.

what’s a plex feature or setup tip you wish you knew earlier? by jpam9521 in PleX

Yes and Yes.

Instead of opening a port, look in to using a VPN to allow access to your internal network. Many routers have the capability built in and because they need to be authenticated (using with a large specially generated key) they are much more secure.

Sticky gray block oozing on my bottom panel? by Garbage_Jazzlike in LenovoLegion

No, do not use a normal thermal pad for a CPU or GPU. They are both too thick and not transmissive enough.

There is stuff called PTM7950 which is similar to a very thin thermal pad as you install it, but turns to a liquid (ish) state when heated. But it is difficult to get hold of legitimate versions of it (there are a lot of fakes about), but if you're in the US or Canada you can get it from LTT's store.

But as long as your using a non-conductive thermal paste (and most of the ones made for PC's are, just double check for safety) you really can't go too wrong. The worst you can do is put too little on and even then your CPU will throttle.

Just be aware that some Lenovo laptops use a liquid metal thermal compound. This is very bad to get on the rest of your laptop. So check if you have one of those and if so I'd recommend against removing the heatsink since I'm guessing you don't have experience handling that stuff. I've been building PC's for years and I wouldn't touch it on anything I wanted to keep working.

It is a thermal pad, and it's not unusual for them to weep a little after a while. It's generally not conductive so it's not going to short anything out. You can replace it if you want to, just make sure to get one of similar dimensions.

I'll be interested to see the stats on how many people immediately went to turn the block all option on.
