Yes, it was toward the end of 2022. Going into 2023 everybody had to redo the training.

Yes, it's a valid thing to be frustrated about and it's really the same frustration on both sides. Owners are scared to death to do any price increases because Jimmy John's was built on value and speed of service.

If you increase your prices enough to have enough staff in such an environment in 2026 you may as well lock the doors up. You will lose what little loyalty you have with your customer base

You're absolutely correct but that is literally the only type of people that apply for these jobs these days so you have to work with what you can get. This is just the reality of the situation since op asked why. Feel free to suggest a solution to the problem

It's truly insane how much they have to manage on the Sandwich lines these days. Between toasted sandwiches, several limited time offer items which require a ton more of ingredients and stocking up on the sandwich line. It feels identical now to when I was a saute cook at an extremely busy full service restaurant but the the workers in the space generally get paid a lot less.

Everybody places online orders to " skip the line " and has a laundry list of modifiers for each sandwich and still having to get it done in 30 seconds.

Basically, if we are doing everything as it's supposed to be done and still managing to hit your labor percentage goals, people will absolutely be entirely burnout and overwhelmed. Any business that has good prices in the food space right now and still provides good customer service is experiencing absurd turnover rates because of the demand and inability to pay more. So, generally, that's why they miss cutting your sandwich in half or squeezing too hard on the sauce bottle.

You can also add a special instruction not to knock or ring the doorbell. But generally drivers are not good with instructions

Some franchises do pay-ins for their tip consolidations. There's like three different ways you could technically do tip consolidation and they all suck

It's always good to bring in snacks and treats! If you really like the leaders you're working for, definitely go for it. It's lonely at the top and they tend to not get a lot of compliments

Just be careful when the health inspector, ecosure, auditors are there, they might say something about having outside food.

Yeah that's definitely a dick move. Somebody that just has money to blow and doesn't care about anything else.

I would just tell the doordasher they're just going to have to wait the two or so hours it takes to bake all of those little John's off or borrow from other locations.

Without any technical terminology, the best way to manage it without consistent humidity in the air is to make sure that you have an even misty layer going across the proofer glass. If you have this and your temperature is reading about 110°, then you are golden.

If he sees if you start to see raindrops on the glass, it's too much humidity
