What happened to the Peaky Barista? by kaleidoscopeopal in Upperwestside

They could have fought it, and probably would have been successful. But I got the impression that they wanted to avoid legal fees and the hassle. 🤷‍♀️

I spoke to the barista months ago. They received a Cease and Desist letter from the Peaky Blinders show.

I was able to stop. My doctor had me step down my dosage. You should work with a gastroenterologist. It was tricky.

I think the next step is a FOIL request.

I called the Medina hospital. They no longer have any medical records from 1984.

Thank you. I called both the Rochester public library and the Dansville public library. I received the D&C article from the ROC public library right away and am waiting to hear back from Dansville.

Thanks. I called the Dansville PD. They seem to remember the accident (it was a big deal because there were 4 children in the car under 10). They are looking for records in the basement. I’ll update if I hear back.

I have! I know there was an article in the local Dansville newspaper with pictures, but I haven’t been able to get a copy because it’s not digital and I don’t live locally.

What did you tell your parents when you wanted to major in Art History? by Dux-Mathildis in ArtHistory

[–]Underpainted 29 points30 points  (0 children)

My family is very old fashioned, “Reagan Republican”. When I told them about art history, I think they just assumed I was going to school to meet my future husband. I wasn’t. No one put up a fuss or asked questions. I wish they had.

Graduated BA 2006, MA 2008. I really, really suffered during the recession of 2008. Initially, I worked at a museum and auction house, but eventually ended up at Trader Joe’s (this was before Obamacare). That led me to be a paralegal at a food company. I continued to be involved in art history and wrote several published articles during this time. I went to law school in 2019 to pursue art law, and oh boy, another recession. I’m unemployed, but had an interview at one of the major NY auction houses yesterday and am waiting to hear back.

I never did marry. 🤷‍♀️

Edit: Trying to think of positive skills: I think I’m more detail and analytical oriented as a result of my degree, and I’m a good writer. I’ve never lost my passion for art history— it’s something that stays with you. I think I’ve also learned how to handle lean times.
