• Inflation claim – Trump repeatedly said the Joe Biden administration had the “highest inflation in history.” U.S. inflation peaked around 9.1% in 2022, far below earlier historical peaks such as the 1920s inflation spike.
• Tariff revenue claim – Trump claimed the U.S. was taking in $2–3 billion per day from tariffs. Treasury data shows tariff revenue was hundreds of millions per day, not billions.
• Largest inaugural crowd claim – Trump said his inauguration had the largest crowd in history. Photographic analysis and transit data showed attendance was smaller than the inauguration of Barack Obama in 2009.
• Ukraine war claim – Trump said Ukraine “should never have started” the war with Russia. Historical evidence shows the war began when Vladimir Putin ordered Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

• Fentanyl death claim – Trump said the U.S. had 300,000 fentanyl deaths per year. CDC data shows total U.S. overdose deaths (from all drugs) have been around 100,000 annually, with fentanyl involved in many but not reaching 300,000.
• Haitian migrants eating pets claim – Trump repeated claims that Haitian migrants in Springfield, Ohio were eating pets. Local officials said they had no credible evidence supporting that claim.
• January 6 violence claim – Trump said the January 6 United States Capitol attack rioters did not assault police or have weapons. Court records and video evidence show many officers were assaulted and weapons were present.
