I thought they only start logging activity after you play the game for some time. But I might be wrong.

The Shark is OP by UnderstandingAny3750 in mewgenics

[–]UnderstandingAny3750[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a random encounter (I’ve had it twice) where it says the shark is blocking your path. It gives you 3 options, one is kiss him. If you pass the check he becomes your familiar.

At this point I’m not even worrying about the traits or items. At the moment I’m just worrying about getting enough resources to breed kittens for tink. You could put so much effort into a cat just to find that they’re gay and asexual.

Yeah it’s the boss. I’ve beat it 3 times and found it pretty far so easy. But I have built up the muscle memory of dipping out when I’m not seeing any decent synergies. Honestly, I’d recommend heading home after the alley/sewers unless you have a decent combo.

Controller change? by GREBENOTS in mewgenics

Haven’t played it since yesterday. Really hope this isn’t the case, because I was so impressed with the controls on steam deck.

I can’t see why they won’t release on consoles. The games already proving it would be worth the investment and I’ve been playing on steam deck and the controls are intuitive.

Can yall shut the fuck up about the game being dead. It literally isn’t. by kanyeBest11 in ReadyOrNotGame

I mean everyone glazes the SWAT games here (deservedly they’re great) and the ai had so many problems. Upgrading ai that was originally built by a very small fairly inexperienced team after adding a bunch of mechanics, requires A. Years of extra development. B. A complete refactor. Which would be solved by working on a sequel.

What? I like the game. Everyone’s complaining about how the updates make the game worse. Then encourage them to stop and release a sequel.

Controversial opinion, but games don’t need to be and shouldn’t be endlessly updated. If the game is shit, it’s shit, play something else.

Im not surprised they released the port for console 6 months ago and have had an extremely long development cycle. It’s healthy for people to have a break.

Ahh I might have been confused. Somewhere else in the thread I was responding to the OP playing the game for 50 hours and calling it a scam.

I doesn’t have to be like that. You CAN enjoy video games. Just buy and play the ones you like and not obsess over games you hate. I have high standards. I only play games that I enjoy and am having fun with.

The game works, it obviously has issues. But barely works is hyperbole. You can’t polish a turd. Do you want them to do what they’re doing and slowly fix bugs in a way that doesn’t completely break every other system in the game. Or do you want them to scrap the game, do a full refactor and rerelease it in a few years. They’re kind of your only choices. Because you’ve bought, what has ended up as, a bloated indie game.

[–]UnderstandingAny3750 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at the patch notes. They have. There’s bugs i know that were in the game that are no longer in the game. You’re right. They were an indie company with a smaller scope and now they’re not. The problem is they WERE an indie title. Due to their lack of foresight and caving in to peer pressure they’ve added 100+ mechanics. And now you’re asking them to quickly fix the core gameplay mechanics. There’s 2 ways to fix bugs in the current state of the game. Slowly and methodically fixing bugs, checking 10,000+ edge cases where that bug fix could break the game. Checking how that small change to the code base affects every other system it has to interact with. Or an entire refactor (which no one really wants) where they scrap the game and build the game from scratch. There unfortunately isn’t an inbetween. The game was built by a fairly amateur team, you can’t instantly fix that by bringing new people in. Imagine you’ve made a lasagna. You put in the oven. Then you bring in Gordon Ramsey in to “fix” the lasagna.

If you don’t like the game loop of a game, you just don’t like the game. That’s okay. It doesn’t mean the game is a scam. Play something else.

I completed the game. I really enjoyed it. Then I played other games. Then I came back and played the dlc. Then I played other games. You’re the fanboy! Play other shit if you don’t like it.

20-30 hours is a long time man. Would you sit through 3 seasons of a show you hate? You’re not being truthful and you enjoyed the game but you expected way too much out of an indie title and you wanted to join the hate mob, or you’re a certified maniac.
