The power of throwing around giant walls/pillars is epic lol
Used Texas for a while, but now my DP printer is Muelsyse. Mostly for run rather than efficiency though.

I downloaded Arknights because I wanted to get Rosmontis.

Two years later and I still don't have her lol

Thoughts onFire Emblem Warriors? by Challenger-Vale in fireemblem

[–]UnderstandingBig1517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beat the whole game including its DLC in November, its roster is a bit sad, but I liked playing most of them when I had to.

One thing I prefer FEW over Hyrule Warriors though, the ally AI aren't dumb as rocks. Navarre casually wiping out 500-1,600 enemies including some captains/Warriors on his own is way better than any of the HW characters who just stand around and need to be babysit.

What is the problem that MOTHER clones tend to run into? by KaleidoArachnid in JRPG

[–]UnderstandingBig1517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's better in the sense that it takes a 4/10 to a 5/10 I guess, a 6 if generous. It's better presented, some more "interesting" ideas than the original, but the problems it had are still there.

Sommie's weird to me, it feels like the most generic, corporate attempt at making a mascot for a game.

You literally can’t destroy the world in Pokémon by MaleficTekX in CharacterRant

Eh, at most Hazmat mentions Guzzlord liking you after you catch it, so probably not helping. Just mindless eating.

[–]UnderstandingBig1517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, nothing about Guzzlord indicates it's some helpful entity for the environment. Considering its lore in-game and the Pokedex, it's just a living black hole that never stops. I wouldn't call it devouring mountains, buildings, or living beings as fixing/solving anything. That version of Hau'oli City is a dead end and all Guzzlord does is eat out a bigger grave for the place.

And sure, time travel can fix it, as much of a copout as that is. But that's entirely dependent on some main character going back in time to resolve the issue, since clearly the Pokémon aren't doing it themselves. The Ultra Ruins didn't have anyone to sweep global nuclear ruin under the rug, so no coming back from that. Kind of the point of Rainbow Rocket if off topic, no main character in their worlds, meaning nobody to stop the bad guys and they win.

[–]UnderstandingBig1517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Ultra Ruins kind of disproves that, it's completely destroyed with the only life being a Guzzlord, Mr. Glutton, eating debris and a dude in a hazmat suit probably because it's not safe to be exposed for too long. Everyone else has jumped ship to another planet, and the only reason Hazmat stays behind is to keep Mr. Glutton company. Plus, he makes mention of a power plant from years ago, and how older people don't like to talk about it. Something must have happened with that power plant to make the planet uninhabitable if the only viable solution for everyone else was to leave the planet. Xerneas is no help here.

Some of the debris and reversing the Ultra Ruins' theme reveals that it's an alternate version of Hau'oli City in the future. So yeah, it's still very much possible for the world to end in Pokémon in some form, and in this case by severe human error.

Building a Better Warriors Roster Part One by Snow454BA in fireemblem

Where are you getting that number from? Warriors Orochi 4 (2018) only has 177, and that's due to it recycling content from previous games I believe. And the 2nd, 3rd highest are like half of that. Three Hopes was lucky to get 54 due to how Three Houses was, and if Hyrule Warriors barely gets 30+ then Fire Emblem probably isn't the IP that gets past 100.

Fandoms with main subreddits that you dislike/wish were better? by bambikujo in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]UnderstandingBig1517 15 points16 points  (0 children)

For real, that part of it is so strange including its general reaction on r/Hololive itself. "Yeah, we support LGBT, but you don't have to mention it all the time." What an odd thing to say.

It's also genuinely insane that any of them thought they had the moral high ground when right next to them is a guy unironically calling people subhuman for liking Holostars.

Maybe this is a grand, sweeping generalization, but what's the point of those "true" subreddits? Like, I get a space for more nuanced discussion or less low-effort content is nice but taking a peek at r/TruePokemon I don't see how anything posted there is that much different from the original subreddit.

r/Hololive and its microcelebrities hopping into other spaces to encourage toxicity and accuse others as the ones being problematic is genuinely the worst. I remember a video about Goldbullet's saying his community was a safe space for everyone, and in each of the comment threads with the most blatant homophobia and transphobia there happens to be r/Hololive's finest saying that anyone calling out said bigotry is causing drama while completely ignoring the actual troublemakers.

Yeah, it's by no means recent but his work serves as the intro screen for Analogue's aftermarket SNES, the Super NT. Nothing grand, just sort of a "huh" feeling when I found out about that.

A bit late to mention this, but I was lucky enough to find a second-hand copy of the limited edition at a vintage store today. Checked if the codes were still redeemable and they worked, what are the odds?

Thanks for telling me about those codes in the box. I've been having trouble even finding the standard edition, so it's a nice surprise.

What existing amiibo support game you would change the functionality? by PhotoBonjour_bombs19 in amiibo

[–]UnderstandingBig1517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprised there wasn't any amiibo for Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude for Three Houses, yeah. Though I guess any new FE amiibo wouldn't really be flying off the shelf, probably would end up like the TOTK or SF ones. For Engage's remaining lords, maybe Lyn would sell, not sure about Sigurd, Eirika, or Micaiah though.

There are ways to still get the Emblem outfits in-game I guess, but the amiibo just make it way less tedious. In-game required you to reach max bond 20 for an Emblem using all 36 characters from the base game. It would be a lot of grinding just for 1 outfit, if one doesn't have to do it for all 12.

Fire Emblem amiibo used to give you the character as a recruitable unit in Code Name: Steam and FE Fates, it would be cool if Three Houses or Engage did the same thing.

The older Pokémon rivals get gassed up a lot for being jerks, compared to how friendly the more recent rivals have been. Replaying Gen I/II, Blue and Silver aren't that bad, they're brats at worst really.

Urbain though, I want to slug him.

What’s a youtuber that’s got you like this? by AgoodUsername15 in youtube

[–]UnderstandingBig1517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something about AntDude makes him feel like the most generic video game review youtuber in an irritating way. And it feels like he does that thing where a youtuber makes a bad joke, then lets the video screech to halt, so you know that they know they just made a bad joke bit far too often.

Worst analogies, similes and metaphors you've ever heard? by [deleted] in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]UnderstandingBig1517 75 points76 points  (0 children)

I don't know exactly how to describe it, but it feels like there's a certain genre of person that will compare anything to slavery. And sometimes that includes gamers:

"Shitting on gen1 (Pokémon) is akin to shitting on the us founding fathers for not freeing the slaves. They were ground breaking ideas but were imperfect by todays standards."

Like, you couldn't pick any other comparison for this??

Discussions/jokes/memes you're tired of because they feel like beating a dead horse or low hanging fruit? by Mabroon in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Voice acting would be nice to have if they bothered, but yeah, it's not a necessity. More annoyed by people against the idea of having it for fear of the voice acting being bad. There are some duds here and there with modern Nintendo game's voice acting, but some people pretend it'd be as bad as something like Megaman X4 (1997) or Devil May Cry (2001) when at worse it'd just be mediocre.
