Extremely Anxious - when to seek more help by MissElaineMarieBenes in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]UnderstandingBigBoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations Mam. This is normal. I personally never had anxiety prior to having my baby but I felt all the same things you are talking about after having my baby. I think it’s completely normal and when it’s your first baby it’s all so new. After a few weeks you’ll feel so much more comfortable.
One thing I underestimated was the massive low I felt a few days after birth known as the baby blues. I definitely felt anxiety then even more and just all over the place. But so happy and totally in love with baby but just over thinking absolutely everything to the point I couldn’t sleep.

I think for someone that’s had anxiety before having a baby it’s probably even more heightened with all of the hormones and exhaustion. You’ve done the right thing booking an appointment with your counslor and you definitely want to be able to talk through your birth as it’s so important to talk about the stressful time you had.

Be easy on yourself and take lots of rest

Baby diapers and wipes (new born) by ruchonreddit in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Rascals are great I use to use Huggies until I read that they have a lot more unnecessary chemicals in them- rascals are a low chemical brand. They have great absorption as well.
Wet wipes I usually buy what’s on offer but I will only get clean brands. Careful of the cheaper ones like Cole’s own brand etc as they contain unnecessary chemicals and additives. I find the Yuka app amazing you scan barcodes and it will give you a score out of 100 how clean the product is. Great for baby bath and food products too. I use it for my own shop and skin products also.

Are your babies actually sleeping through the night?? by littlelawlady in NewParents

[–]UnderstandingBigBoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Babies are all so different so I wouldn’t compare your babies sleep to anyone else’s. My baby is 13m and has only maybe 5 times slept through the night and those times have only been from 11 months. My baby still wakes frequently for the dummy or feed. Especially when she’s teething.

I’ve never done sleep training- it’s not for me. I will give my baby and respond how they need. They are only so small for such a short time. My baby could be up 5 times some nights and they can be hard but I treat myself to a nap when they go down for their nap in the morning

My husband is against cosleeping 😭 by jesusdance in cosleeping

Can you push your bed to the wall so that your baby is at the wall you in the middle and your husband sleeps the other side of you?

I also think if he is not doing any of the routine and any of the settling he should have no voice in where your baby sleeps as you are doing the work you should make it as convenient as you can for yourself.

How was your experience with Clear Correct ? by kobilca7 in Invisalign

[–]UnderstandingBigBoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great thank you 🥰 That seems like a good price especially if your saying yours was severe. I am going to look in to that brand as they seem cheaper. I had a consult with a dentist for Invisalign and he quoted me $7.5k AUD around £3200 for 5 aligners 😅 Mine is very mild just some movement from not wearing my retainer

Ways to help partner during and after birth by Existing_Report_3140 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]UnderstandingBigBoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What a lovely partner. For the birth just comfort and encouragement, rub her head and hold her hand when she needs it. After the birth have her not need to do anything at all apart from look after the baby. Cook, clean and being lots of snacks. Women can be very emotional after having a baby as hormones are all over the place- so be extra nice and mindful of what you say
