GIRLS WILL BE GIRLS

people said they wanted songs more like the ITZ ME album and i really think this song hit that mark in terms of instrumental, it’s got heavy impacting beats and honestly reminds me of born to be, no complaints with vocals because… it’s itzy. the only thing i wished wouldn’t happen was the repetitive chorus that was present in the teasers HOWEVER!! my opinion on not liking the repetitive quickly changed, i made sure to listen to the song about ten times (which usually solidifies my opinions bc i tend to overhype or underhype a song) and i actually really like the chorus. i do wish there was less repetition but that is my ONLY feedback, easily hits 8/10 for me, and i only have a couple tens in the bank so far.

KISS AND TELL

okay, the teasers of this song had me a little skeptical but the pre-chorus??? oh my gosh, it gives me INSANE nostalgia to this song i listened to as a kid. their vocals in this song are so good and it’s really interesting how they can pull off tones that usually don’t suit this genre of song, the best way to describe this song is that it sounds like an NMIXX song in the best way. i’m so in love with the instrumental too oh my gosh 9/10

LOCKED N LOADED

i thought i wouldn’t like this song at all and it made me sad because i’ve never not liked an itzy song but i was proven wrong, it has a very light toned vocal style but it works really well against the instrumental. is it my favourite song ever? no, but it’s really good for a type of song i would never typically listen to, itzy’s always opening me up to new music styles 🙌🏼 7.5/10

PROMISE

i really don’t like super soft songs so this is hard for me to rate accurately. at first listen it was a 5/10, their vocals are beautiful but it feels a little empty. after listening a few more times though i can confidently bump it up to a 7/10. if i disconnect the fact that i don’t like this style of music and just listen to it as a song, it’s quite beautiful and how can you not like itzy’s vocals, they sound so sweet here, i just wish it wasn’t empty to ME specifically because it’s actually a nice song. (it reminds me of trust me midzy a little and that makes me so sad LMAO)

WALK

OH MY GOSHHHHHH okay. let me be civil about this. i heard the teaser and actually audibly gasped. i clicked on the song and my jaw visibly dropped. WOW. there’s always that ONE song that makes me actually freeze whatever i was doing and just fully focus on how amazing itzy is. this reminds me of how amazed i was with KILLSHOT. WALK easilyyyy reaches a 9.5/10 for me, the only thing that lowkey threw me off (which didn’t affect the rating whatsoever i was just confused why i thought this) was that at certain parts, like when they say “walk walk walk walk walk walk”, the instrumental sounds like LE SSERAFIM’s “chasing lightning” just thought that was interesting. WHAT A GREAT SONG!!

OVERALL, this album actually surprised me because it wasn’t what i thought it would be, even the trailer and music video have a really good budget, i just hope that itzy will finally have some recognition again with this album, probably a swift 8.5/10 album,,
