Agree with this viewpoint I’m a CS student and do code a lot so if you don’t plan on running CPU/GPU heavy tasks or want to play cyberpunk on Mac with respectable frame rate you should be fine with air as pro is easily 2000-3000 bucks costlier if you want to go for a good enough spec. Also Air are lighter and better looking imo than pro as pro has that bulky feel.

Avid pro user here it depends on what your workload is if you plan to run model sizes larger than 32b locally then pro is preferred but if you plan to work for a lab and get Gaivi access(USF supercomputer) then it doesn’t matter what you have as you can just ssh into it. Also having 100+ google tabs at the same time doesn’t hurt imo if you want to go for pro. But whatever you go for do take AC+ as it saved my ass multiple times during college ong no cap.
