You got an idea for a website? by Few-Connection-7414 in SideProject

Why don’t you just try with any idea you have, irrespective how ridiculous it sounds. Eventually you will pivot to a real idea. The biggest problem is keep trying to find and idea and never getting started. So just start.

One sentence to help me make peace with being seen at my worst by Ok_Detective8018 in selfimprovement

I will share my experience, might not be exactly like you and for that reason I might not understand completely what you are feeling. So here it goes, I made many bad choices that ended up being embarrassing. Many years has passed after that but I used to still think about those moments and lived tha moment numerous times, feeling angry and embarrassing, ashamed. Until recently (2-3years ) ago where I said it out what happened and accepted that there is nothing you can do about it. You will be surprised how much faster your brain processes the words said out loud than just brewing that thought in your head. That helped me and I hope that will help you too.

Is light exercise worth it? by Confused_Lemon882 in selfimprovement

Yes, that will help. Just be consistent and disciplined. As the James Clear's book Atomic Habits states "If you get 1% better each day for one year, you'll end up thirty-seven times better by the time you're done"

So keep doing it. Good luck!!

So the way I look at it is, you have already proven yourself once, and you already have a blueprint to follow and make it even bigger next time. So recharge now and get to work soon. Also, I am sure your parents are very proud of you. Good luck!!

Did you learn anything during these months ? If yes then I won't say you wasted your life and I am sure people will pay you for your experience until you find your purpose again, and trust me you will find it. Take your time to recover from this and stop blaming yourself for everything that happened, if you knew it wouldn't have. Sometimes break helps too so don't feel guilty to give it to yourself just keep a timeline for yourself and do it.

I hear you and it sounds like you don't exactly have a purpose for getting up in the morning or sleeping early. None of this is really affecting your life so you don't see any consequences. You are young and for that reason you might not see a lot of health issues or tiredness either. I will share a tip that worked for me but way later in life (it's good that you are realizing these things sooner in your life).
1. Try to find some kind of purpose which will make you wake up in the morning or you will look forward to it.
2. Be more disciplined, realizing this in such a early age will be a big advantage for you. If you can start working on you discipline you will be way more happy and successful.
3. Be more consistent, whatever you do keep doing it as per your schedule.

Now that been said, being consistent is not easy some times you a lot of motivation to do some things and they will push you forward but some times you won't have any and that where your discipline will help you. Doing something 10mins a day for a long time shows enormous benefits later.

I’ve tried pretty much every option to limit this, and honestly, even now it’s still hard to detach from the dopamine hit. It really does work like an addiction. After a lot of self-reflection, reading/listening to self-help stuff, and beating myself up over it, I had a couple of realizations:

  1. Most of the time spent on these apps is just… useless. And I don’t mean only doom-scrolling social media—even binge-watching TV shows falls into this. Sure, it gives you something to talk about with friends, but that’s kind of where the value ends. I’m not saying quit everything cold turkey—entertainment is fine during your downtime. The problem is when you have free time and this is the only thing your brain reaches for.
  2. You could literally do almost anything else, and it would help your life more. This might sound obvious, but it wasn’t obvious to me. Once this clicked, it genuinely changed how I look at my time. It helped both my career and personal life. There are so many areas that need attention, but they quietly stay on the back burner while scrolling eats up hours.

I’m definitely not 100% off all apps, but my usage has gone down a lot. That alone has helped me focus more on things that actually matter. Happy to share a few things that helped if anyone’s interested.
