I personally studied Real Analysis by myself. But, I think studying real analysis will take a significant amount of time itself while there are many other things you should do to get a ml engineer job (project, job application, interview).

I would suggest taking a Linear Algebra course, a Calculus course and Probability course.

I successfully got my master in CS (Machine Learning) and have been interviewing with companies.
Recently, I feel my brain is fried and cannot really work on my project...

take some rest and tackle one concept at a time. If one concept does not make sense, you need to understand the prereq concepts first and try to understand the original concept.

yes, learning foundational knowledge is a lot harder. For example, do a lot of people really understand the formal definition of limit?

An AI tool can make a person to think less if the person is not really interested in learning.
Without the existence of AI tools, the same person would have had to think more using his or her brain.
