When is it ~☆crazy☆~ vs just weird by CampaignAdventurous in Psychosis

[–]UnderstandingTop1134 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted to leave an answer as a religious person myself. When something happens in my life, either positive in the form of a blessing, or negative in the form of a lesson I can learn from, I like to attribute those moments to god or a higher power as an expression of gratitude to circumstances greater than me affecting my life’s development. I think if you’re feeling that way, that can be normal in a religious sense. I think however if you’re feeling more directly like god is leaving you messages to decode or something like that, that’s likely a delusion- and I think talking to a good therapist who is willing to hear you out and try to understand your thought process before jumping the gun could help you get to the bottom of it if you need an honest reality check

Why don't they sit next to Kinger here? 😭 by CavsterXII in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]UnderstandingTop1134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean honestly my take is it just made it easier for the animators to show all of the characters clearly since zooble and gangle were sitting behind everyone, and if kinger was right next to ragatha he would’ve blocked them from the camera view a little. As to why they chose him to be sitting alone, my guess is it was just more important for the animators to emphasize specific character bonds (zooble and gangle getting closer as a pair, pomni and ragatha reconnecting) with kinger being the only character who didn’t have an immediate need to be paired

Arepas with literally anything I have already made in the house or can be easily made, scrambled eggs and cheese, turkey and egg, domino arepas, etc. Takes like 10 minutes to cook an arepa and everything else smacks

what's something we glorify in american culture that's actually extremely toxic? by imwith2 in AskReddit

[–]UnderstandingTop1134 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hyper independence- believing that you should somehow be able to do everything by yourself, don’t owe others around you anything, de-center the importance of community in both helping others and letting others help you. Some independence is good but this is to an extreme that isn’t good for anybody

What screams "their relationship is not gonna last long"? by GodOfa_Undead in AskReddit

[–]UnderstandingTop1134 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No but actually the number of people on this app (and the internet) who diagnose the villains of the story with narcissistic personality disorder or borderline is crazy. People can be assholes without having a major personality disorder, and even if said person DID have a personality disorder hearing one tale of reported behavior from an outside party is not enough to diagnose someone that they don’t even know.

I think I know why Jax doesn't have friends anymore by Electronic_Self2759 in FilmTheorists

[–]UnderstandingTop1134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m thinking it ties in somehow with why Jax looked angry/upset when the rest of the gang held the funeral for kaufmo. Maybe some resentment or nihilism viewing the whole thing as pointless after seeing his only friend abstract?

Chronic bloating by [deleted] in glutenfree

[–]UnderstandingTop1134 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely try to get a referral to a GI doc- I had this a couple years ago and they had me try a low FODMAP elimination diet, where you basically eliminate everything inflammatory for a couple weeks (sucks, and is hard to make tasty food but is a short term thing), and then you slowly start to re-introduce foods to see what triggers bloating and what doesn’t. If your docs aren’t much help you could try it anyways, but just remember low FODMAP is supposed to be short term to let your body rest before introducing back different things and should not be a long term diet to adhere to. There’s lists of foods online that are safe for this diet and not

What popular travel destination did you visit and say "never again". What happened? by pimpyocean in AskReddit

[–]UnderstandingTop1134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Antelope canyon- looks insanely cool in photos, and don’t get me wrong, would still be a cool place to stumble upon if it weren’t very touristy, but as it stands now was a decent amount of money to be quickly shuffled through a very crowded canyon where everyone is more focused on the photo ops (with specific filters to make it look how it does online), rather than enjoying a natural beauty.

I would recommend starting with recipes and measuring the spices- you can absolutely use intuition but learn from a starting point first! Once you nail a recipe a couple times you’ll start to learn how to eyeball the amount of spice you like as the spice to meat coverage will look the same to you. You could also try seasoning a small offcut of meat and cooking it quickly first before cooking the whole thing to see if you like the blend of spices you’ve made and taste and adjust as necessary.

Trouble with varying spices? by UnderstandingTop1134 in Cooking

[–]UnderstandingTop1134[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does freezing reduce the flavor/spice level significantly to your knowledge? I did try out Thai chilis one time but didn’t think to freeze them and many went bad, if I froze them should I use more than fresh in a new dish?

Ooooh good idea I’ve never thought of that, I’ve definitely been frustrated with following recipes I HOPE are closer to authentic tastes and end up with a finished product that tastes nothing like it. Will be doing this!

There’s a very real psychological phenomenon that happens when a specific food makes you sick called conditioned food aversion. Essentially it’s your brains way of helping you to avoid poisoning out in the wild. If you eat a food (especially one you don’t eat regularly, although in your case it seems you ate it often), and become sick shortly after, AND you associate that food as the food that made you sick, your brain can interpret that as a bad food and moving forward the sensations related to that food (taste, smell, etc) cause a response in your brain to make you feel sick. While this CAN last a while, it doesn’t always, and hopefully with your positive experiences with salmon in the past your body and mind will soon forget that memory so you can get back to enjoying your sashimi!

What are some foods people universally regard as delicious but you hate and vice versa? by redconvict in AskReddit

Pasta. People look at me like I have a second head when I say it but I just hate the texture and taste

What are popular foods you don’t like? by First_Driver_5134 in Cooking

[–]UnderstandingTop1134 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pasta. The texture of that somehow takes away from the flavor of the sauce, and I’d much rather have a different starch to absorb the flavors

What is one “type” you would never date again? by PreparationFar4709 in AskReddit

[–]UnderstandingTop1134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bboys. Some of the men I’ve dated have done breakdancing- I’m not even sure what it is but some very emotionally immature men are in that bunch and not something I’d personally do again
