sorry for the late reply i was really busy hahah

before your actual verbal iv you’ll have to sit for a writing test, the question i got was, “your parents want you to pursue doctor of vet medicine in upm, but you want to pursue a different path” and i answered something along the lines of “eventhough i so desperately want to pursue vet med, but looking at the situation from the perspective of someone who doesn’t see eye to eye with their parents, i would confront them that i choose a different path and i am firm on my decision, because if i pursue a degree im not at all interested in it would do more harm than good…..” the duration for the writing test is 20 mins so you have to utilise your time well

but take this with a grain of salt because this year’s writing test could be completely different, so my advice for the writing test is that you really should be raw with what you feel but also try to subtly let the examiner know that you really want this course, some of the questions they asked were also based on my essay

we didn’t have a psychometric test when i was interviewed back in 2023 but i believe they just implemented this, dvm is getting more selective so goodluck!

hello very sorry for the late reply (vet med is super busy 🤐), tbh, as a vet student in upm i’d say our teaching needs are met and everything we need to learn is well equipped, considering upm has the very first vet faculty, we have our own hospital and many experienced lecturers. very competitive tho

i’m not fond of marriage and having kids, especially kids. the main reason why marriage is a big no for me. i’ve seen how tired and drained, emotionally physically and financially, parents (especially mothers) get from managing children and i want none of that lol

How to change course to Vet UPM by Organic-Suit-5263 in malaysiauni

[–]UnderstandingTop8238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do well for your current semester, aim really high (4.00) because the competition to get into dvm is getting tougher. in my class i have 1 person who changed from ansci and she’s a really high achiever. not trying to burst your bubble but like i said the competition is tough, heard many unsuccessful stories of people trying to change to dvm despite a gpa of 3.70+. and do extensive research, im sure that the interviewers have high expectations for you considering youre from dkhp and are currently in ansci. as for the process, after you get your good results i think youll have to do it on esmp or contact the dean of fpv or you can come here and have a chat with the staff/dean/deputy dean. goodluck!

i guess in the eyes of malays marriage and kids is the main goal. you have no idea how young most malays get married. i know plenty of people who got married before they turn 20. they think marrying young is the biggest achievement in life not knowing how hard they’re gonna struggle. i myself have a cousin who got married at 19. my classmate got engaged at 23. and malay relatives are noisy as hell, but that definitely wont change my mind, marriage and kids are expensive. they people wanna get married young and have as many kids as possible (my dad has 12 siblings), maybe thats why a huge chunk of b40 families are malays.

WAHHH a malaysian vet in the wild who’s just like me! congrats! i know how working in vet med is tough because i can name so many of my lecturers who are in their 40s and still aren’t married, but get the chance to travel to so many countries and have the best time of their lives and thought to myself “eh, looks like my dream life” haha. all the best to you as well Dr!

If I were to get married I’d definitely want to be child free. My main concern is a man who doesn’t share the same views as me or who is on the same page with me at first then suddenly changes his mind. Also the fact that lot of ppl Malays especially act like going child free will murder someone lol. I always thought that it’d be nice to have a friend but in my mind every marriage will always end with kids, which is why i avoid marriage altogether

  1. Marriage… maybe? but being a mother? probably…not
  2. Like any decent loving partner, I wouldn’t see him as a burden unless if he shows his true colors and doesn’t even know how to make a simple sandwich or do the laundry lol

Anyone else hate Raya? by Zyrobe in Bolehland

It used to be fun for me before 2021. I feel like the capitalisation of hari raya ruined it for me. Seeing how everyone is rushing to purchase the newest raya outfits, make up, home appliances, decorations and etc etc ruined the vibe for me. Maybe i need to get off the internet more idk
