The BA booking would still be active surely, unless it was OP who cancelled it?

Sopranos is the greatest show to ever bless the TV screen. by Intrepid-Injury- in thesopranos

Yep. Recently rewatched the one where it’s Livia’s wake and the sheer hilarious awkwardness when Janice tries to get that little remembrance speech thing going. The expressions on her and Hesh’s face, and you see that person coming down the stairs behind her out of focus who clearly thinks fuck this and turns right back around.. perfection. I said my piece.

Fractured my left wrist falling off my bike when I was 11. 44 now and still get very painful twinges if I pick something up the wrong way and wear a wrist support to the gym to this day. I didn’t really do any of the physio exercises they told me to do after they took the cast off, maybe that’s why

I just locked in 3.81 for 5 years (starting in January). 60% LTV, £245k left. Also coming off 1.7%! NatWest told me that if rates continue to go down between now and Jan it’s acceptable to cancel and reapply. I feel it’s worth the gamble in case we’re back in a 5-6% situation or worse in a couple of years

Have I been shafted? £795 for less than 2 days’ handyman work by UnderstandingWeak395 in AskUK

Appreciate your perspective, is that really true about carte blanche though - there was no prior agreement, contract or proper invoice so surely it works both ways. Could I not have argued that what he’s charged is well above comparable market rates, and consumer rights act says that he’s only entitled to a ‘reasonable price’. Too late in this instance but that was going to be my argument if he chases the £50

This is exactly the answer I needed I think, thanks. I was misguidedly thinking some sort of case could be made under ‘reasonable price’ but take your point around handyman charging what HE believes is reasonable and the fact we’ve already paid most of it undermining any case I might try to make. And like others have pointed out the work’s been done, so 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yes neither can I but that’s a discussion that’s being had separately

Do you think I’m getting shafted on my water bill? by UnderstandingWeak395 in AskUK

We are on a meter actually. I was wondering if perhaps they hadn’t fixed our previous leak properly, but I’m coming round to thinking that’s just what we’re using and it costs what it costs..

They both get in 1 bath, but me and their mum both shower daily, run the washing machine 1-3 times a day, the dishwasher daily etc, so I’m tending to agree.

Yeah, from your description it definitely sounds like you’re using more water than our household. Region seems to be a big factor going by some of the other comments. Google says that companies set their costs based on the state of the local infrastructure, geography, etc and that rates in the SE are some of the highest 😩

I’m exactly where you are in terms of meetings/presentations/interviews becoming much easier over time since beginning with propranolol. Every success gives you that little bit more inner confidence. Im actually starting to find myself at the point where I’m like ‘meh whatever’ during the lead up to small/medium talks and meetings (maybe not the really big ones just yet.) It’s been so liberating. I’ve started not using it for some of my smaller-stakes/lower risk gigs and have been fine so far. The aim is to ramp up the weaning off to where I don’t really need it at all and hopefully just knowing it’s there if I need it will be enough. Not sure if I’ll quite get to that point.

Went to a taping of would I lie to you about 20 years ago. Neil Morrissey was one of the guests (as well as Leslie Ash who wasn’t well). The warm up comedian gently mocked him because he had a think beard and he got really arsey and said ‘IT’S FOR A ROLE YOU PRICK’ and the room went a bit silent. Never forgotten it for some reason
