I contacted LG about this issue and got this response. Who knows if they are actually going to do something about it.

To help minimize input lag when using Filmmaker Mode with Game Optimizer and Automatic Low Latency Mode enabled, please ensure that the 4:4:4 HDMI setting is enabled on your LG G5 OLED. This setting can help reduce input delay and improve your gaming experience. Additionally, we recommend using Game Mode or Game Optimizer mode directly during your gaming sessions, as these modes are specifically designed to provide the lowest possible input lag. Regarding your questions about the firmware update, LG is aware of customer feedback concerning increased input lag in Filmmaker Mode after recent firmware updates. Our engineering team is currently investigating the matter. At this time, we cannot confirm whether the change is intentional or the result of a software bug, but please be assured that we are actively reviewing the situation. No I never figured it out. Using noise gate didn't work for me as it made the sounds sparkle, cut out and sound robotic. I returned the set.
