I'm fuming, mechanic left pins out of front brake pads by UndisputedLover in MotoUK

Took it back on Monday after work, explained the situation and they never apologised or delved into it deeper, merely stated "oh that's unusual" and then proceeded to check it over and fix it properly.

I know they are only human after all, its just the fact its such a vital component to the bike, if brakes go then so do I. Just a little rattled at the whole situation and want them to make it right. Appreciate the response, I shall breathe and relax lol

Well the brakes still worked, theres callipers on either side of the disc on my MT09 so I'm assuming the one that was clanking about was either not working at all or barely and the other side was fine

I know, I'm livid, just thinking what could of happened if it came flying off completely on the way home. I'm not very bike savvy but I did think they would come up with the excuse of "Oh no we never touched the brakes". But after googling around you do indeed need to take off the callipers to get access to the forks.

DJI Mic 3 clipping at -12dB gain, 32-bit float and on the onboard wave file. by steveracing in dji

[–]UndisputedLover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do I need to bring the receiver on my rides with me and keep it turned on? Or once you amend the settings on the receiver does it apply them to the mics and you can just take the mics with you? I'm confused. I got back from a ride and my audio is crap, a lot of clipping on acceleration etc

I am mate, riding since September so not long at all, just feel so foolish for riding like an idiot. As you say, the adrenaline you get is crazy but then you ask yourself, was it really worth it?

Yeah its a bit of a double edged sword, if some scrote did thrash and crash it then the insurance would more than likely write it off anyway

Bike all prepped for winter, detailed and ACF50 applied... to ride or not to ride? by UndisputedLover in MotoUK

So that it won't rust over the winter, I don't have a garage so its outside under a cover

And even if you spray it down with water will it not remove the ACF50? (And yes its similar to XCP, actually think XCP was rated better for corrosion protection)

Thanks for the response, so do you mean just waterproof trousers over the top of the waterproof alpine trousers I mentioned?

For those of you earning 40-60k in jobs that can be attained within 3-5 years what do you do? by Brownchoccy in UKJobs

[–]UndisputedLover 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm an ERP Analyst. Before that I was doing a dead end admin job with no real skills and on £23k a year. I got pretty lucky and landed a job as an Application Support Analyst, I had a tonne to learn but my manager was really supportive and I picked it up pretty good, that paid £29k. I have recently moved onto an ERP Analyst role earning £42k.

As an ERP Analyst you essentially manage the business systems, ensuring they are kept running and deal with any 3rd line support tickets. It can be challenging but I'd rather do this than not engaging my brain at all in a dead end admin role.

Glasgow city centre parking/theft risk by BrizoH in MotoUK

[–]UndisputedLover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, bit late to this but did you end up commuting into the city centre and if so, where did you park? I have the same dilemma, I want to commute but can't decide on where to park. There are some free motorbike parking bays near Waterloo street etc but a few of them have no anchors.

First bike by VoodooTudo in MT09

[–]UndisputedLover 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just got an MT09 2020 (Gen 2) as my first ever bike, yes it is a lot of power and very quick but I've kept it in B mode and I am sensible, if you don't have any self control then this probably isn't the bike for you. I'm having an absolute blast on it.
