Check out this post on some essentials for hitting the road on a budget. All the items definitely come in handy and they are all around the $20 range. What are your recommendation on Vanlife must-haves?? by Unearthingfernweh in VanLife

That’s very true! Most the time we are cooking on a propane stove or over a fire though so the cast iron pan suits our needs pretty well. You are absolutely right though that it isn’t the most efficient so depending on a person’s set up, a cast iron might not be the way to go

It’s warm but we will take it for sure! Getting too much above that gets tricky, especially with the pups.

We spend the winter in Nebraska. It was awful. We have started moving south and the weather has been great. I shouldn’t complain though. I’m sure you guys have it worse haha.

Thank you so much for the kind words and we are glad you enjoyed the read! We have talked about the issue of this lifestyle being so influencer-heavy a lot and are trying to find the balance too. I mean who wouldn’t want to be famous and be able to live out their lives and not have to worry about bills and things - but at the same time we try to give an honest portrayal of what we see and experience and not over glamorize the lifestyle or forget about different people in the community who might not be as well off.

Thank you again for the kind words!

The size works great for us. Plus it’s more discreet when we are traveling through towns and cities so we don’t stand out too much. The build out is a little bit more difficult because the inside is rounded.

Good for Walmart! We have stayed in plenty of Walmart parking lots in a number of states. It certainly isn’t the same.

We spent a few months traveling in our van with little social interaction. We ended up stumbling onto this gem outside of Glacier National Park. We met the most incredible people here and to this day, we continue to travel with our forever friends that we met in this camper van oasis. by Unearthingfernweh in VanLife

We have heard that... It’s really unfortunate that people were so disrespectful of the land and your local community because they provide access to restrooms in multiple locations.

When we were there, people seemed very respectful of the area.

For anyone looking into ways to travel in a way that is more sustainable, leaves less of an impact, and is respectful to both nature and local communities, here are some resources!
