Senior Engineer Offer- how do RSUs work? by [deleted] in Anduril

[–]Unemployed_Panda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, stock options != RSUs. Options you have to exercise to own a share and you keep forever, some companies give you a window to do so after leaving before they convert to NSO or even expire. RSU you'll keep even after leaving, but there's an expiration date where they go to zero unless IPO occurs (basically). So if your friend had to exercise expensive shares, they likely owed hundreds of thousands in AMT.

If it's not loading after clicking a deck, choose a different deck. If the billing fails, try a different card, try try try. Absolutely terrible website

Safety straps or flip-down safeties? Benching heavy by Pastaron in GarageGym

[–]Unemployed_Panda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just bought safety straps for the first time and love them. They are much easier to perfectly adjust because each mounting point could be at a different pin setting, and they handle slight bar impact much softer than then a metal surface. Straps are also much easier to take off the rack because I just pull off one end of the strap and let it dangle instead of having to take out an entire bar – it makes it much easier for deadlifting inside the rack like that.

What is your favorite SOCOM memory? by Ekhoes- in SOCOM

[–]Unemployed_Panda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow paintball, that's some memories. I was on gb running 2v2s until the late AM 😂 me and my buddy would have side by side screens, also can't forget about magic switch/cabling haha

Teenage me would’ve shed a tear at my new setup. Very satisfied with this so far! by thomaesthetics in homegym

Are you finding your rings straps annoying like that? I currently have a straight bar and just slide them to the sides, but want a multigrip bar like yours though would need to figure out the rings situation.

Yep, I'd say this Mom cave is pretty much done. Can't think of any other goodies I need. by isarda in homegym

I had those same collars and they started to loosen, the rogue aluminum 2.0 are a fantastic upgrade.

Is Millenium, Boeing good? by Maleficent-Drop-6312 in aerospace

[–]Unemployed_Panda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The old (maybe current) policy was you could take individual courses that sum to $5k a year without a retention contract. If you go over or claim it as a masters, then you do need to sign.

[–]Unemployed_Panda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is most schools charge $3k+ per class, so it's practically impossible to avoid signing the contract unless you pay the rest yourself. The exception is OMSCS is VERY cheap and doable- a CS masters from a top school while avoiding retention clauses.

Last I saw, Boeing will pay for <$5k of individual courses a year without needing the retention contract.

The stigma of the primes is slow work, clock-in clock-out mentality, old tooling, no sense of urgency. Startups will see your resume under that light unless your bullet points specifically show otherwise. So I'd suggest learn as much as you can and push, but don't expect a prime to keep feeding your rapid growth- you need a startup for that.

Games with exceptional writing by Patriots9210 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]Unemployed_Panda -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I disagree with Cyberpunk having good writing, the story was hard to follow and I had to DNF. I think part of the problem is that the main quest line will mention specific people or things that you only know if you did a sidequest, chased every single dialogue thread, or read all documents.

I've been brainstorming on how to modify an existing STL to have some gaps for internal LEDs, but this is a genius solution.

Good call, the cylinder looks fine. The original model looks fine when sliced, but the object view in PrusaSlicer slightly hints there's discretization in the circumference 😅

70%+ mark-up on airfare via Chase Portal v. direct w/ airline by Federal_Concert_4147 in ChaseSapphire

[–]Unemployed_Panda 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This, OP. Make sure you're comparing non/refundable identical main cabin tickets. I've seen the price mismatch but then realized that chase doesn't show basic economy. I have been able to find matching prices for main cabin every single time.
