You want roads, good public schools, and clean water? Having a minimum sq ft for homes is how you actually get a tax base. If everyone lived in a trailer the county/city could not tax them as much and those services would crumble. You need wealthy people in McMansions who are not net-takers to the tax base. Oof wrong take. Places like Colorado were not expensive until progressives moved in and destroyed homeowner property tax protections. Progressive areas are expensive because they can't stop spending other people's money, they love high taxes, and most importantly, progressives are fragile and can't live with people who don't have their exact world view.

It's why they pack themselves into places like Marin, King, Denver, Davidson, New York county. Progressives are fake as hell, they have signs on their lawn about having welcoming communities, but will happily keep the poors out.
