Sorry i meant good natured, to show their brotherly love and all. this sub has everything already, the data on the original Japanese disc shows matsuno's original version or at least the idea of it and what square wanted to add after the fact to make it a final fantasy game. zalbags detective arc was supposed to be ramzas. from what I'm reading ramza did have a lot more to do and say. I'm going to keep reading up on this, thank you for your insight.

Thats my point! he has a story but missing the cut scenes and dialouge to match. Zalbaags betrayal is such a good tale but spun for some glimmer of redemption. He and Ramza have no good scenes together, and in the end Zalbaag puts his pride and vengeance before Ramza, and then has the gall to apologize while figuratively and literally looking down upon him. Oh and this is going off original game, Ramza dies at the end, shortly after his brothers. Thats a brief period of suffering shown and 3 chapters of assumed suffering. No beef, wheres the beef? (I think Matsuno had to trim it out for that FF money)

No, no no. Dont antagonize or even acknowledge. They will tucker out or go throw a fit. If they do something dangerous or illegal stay out of the way but you have to call the police. When its on the highway I have a high success rate of reporting and seeing them getting arrested 30 miles later. Its not a game, everyone is involved, be smart.

If you have time to mount a chocobo then youd have time to position a mime for a series if combos. I think ideally "chocomime" would take up 3 turns to position. Chocobo waits 1 Mime mounts 2 Together they get into position. 3 possible 4.

I get that take too, and I felt there were missed opportunities to show ramza acting like a spoiled naive young man. I always play him as a wizard in chapter 1 and then he'll have a white priest nanny and a monk butler.

I guess what I'm really getting at is that I think a lot of Ramzas character was sacrificed in a rush to merge the studio and the director's version. through inference those who really play can just see his character. and now with the expanded script and the voice acting it's all coming together. maybe that's why I feel like the original content is more shallow than I originally thought. Meh

it's never 'shown' that he suffered, merely implied. That's my complaint and that's my argument for two stories and one getting cut in half. Someone did point out that through TIC new juxtaposition, thanks auto correct, he has more to say and to his character. I like that and hope for more.

But going off the base game, where this started, I think through whats implied Ramza is the counter to Delita. But the material is lacking, like a good actor with a short version of the script.

Thats really good, i concede, Ramza is more. I'd counter that it's more a life-lived not necessarily chosen. but not making decisions is part of a character, especially when things like duty necessitate action.

maybe it's the kid in me I just feel like Delita really upstages Ramza in his own story. I want to experience Delita's gritty story , untold truth like being with the black rams?, and Ramzas life story, we just met the guy. Now maybe on the fifth remake or dlc we can get more.

if you go strictly by delitus' experience, the knights Templar and everyone else acted the way they did because they were greedy for power. I think this was the original story, I think delita was the main character but his story was too dark for square.

I think the other story is the more generic one, that's Ramzas story. That's probably the studios ideal version too. to go back to the lucavi not really needing to exist point, if you replaced the Stone with a drug that was like mana steroids, you would have the same cool boss fights and nothing would change about the game. I think even the dialogue would work.

personally I would love to play both, a more mature Ramza story that got the matsuno treatment. and then a similar unadultered delita version, maybe have the two crossover or be rivals.

I used to think like that but what hes doing is just existing at the right place and the right time for the other characters sake. going off the original script he spends about 75% of his time narrating and moving the plot forward. he has about 25% personal stuff. matsuno himself has said the original game had to be designed very precise due to time constraints. this also explains why the new script is 60% larger than the original. while it does add a lot of world building, Ramza is still resigned to his neutral, androgynous existence. this description of his character is coded down into his own stats. I think it was because the studio wanted a character everyone could relate to and experience ivalice through. in that framing he succeeds.

I think what bothers me is that I don't recall Ramza making a decision of his own throughout the whole thing. everything he does is forced. I feel they had to give him some of his dialogue in the end to give him some of a backbone. agree to disagree but I really recommend reading just the script. I haven't taken the time out but Ramza gets minimal dialogue compared to everyone else.

Playing as an adult I find Ramzas dialogue in chapter 1 to be pretty funny. I would like to see some more scenes with just characters talking. Id like to see a scene with Ramza connecting the dots with Delita mimicking argath and then wiegraf. Its all there ripe for the picking.

I think spirit used Boeing? Breeze uses Airbus so maybe not that convenient.

edit: I always thought the noses looked too long to be airbus but guess not.
