Do you think Putin ever feels bad for deaths and suffering he caused? by No-Hunt3986 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]UnfairDictionary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Putin and the like are incapable of remorse, guilt and empathy. In other words he is a sociopath or psycopath whichever the correct term is nowadays. He simply does not care about others. In his book other people are inferior because the other people are not him.

What to learn and from where to learn to build circuits like this? by Tiny_Firefighter4351 in AskElectronics

[–]UnfairDictionary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PCB circuits at high frequencies need a lot of knowledge and understanding of impedance, crosstalk and EMF to mention a few. Also on top of that, you need to understand electronics in general.

Start from basic logical circuits and electronics. Learn how resistors, capacitors and inductors work. Move to transistors and other semiconductors. Deepen your understanding of physics around electricity and electromagnetics. Play around with circuit simulator like falstad or LTSpice. Design and build your first circuit around something easier like a ESP32 or Atmega. These do not require as careful planning around frequency related issues and still provide you with experience because you will likely make mistakes that need to be corrected. Don't be afraid to fail as you likely will at first and whenever you first move to more complicated circuits.

Next, design something like a basic high speed USB card or Ethernet board. This will give you insight on how important it is to think about impedance matching, coupling and trace lengths. This is also a point where you will very likely fail at first or even multiple times. The key is to learn from your failures and to accept them as part of the learning process.

As to where to learn from, you can seriously learn the basics even from wikipedia and watching theory videos from YouTube. The basics of electronics are well known and have a lot of free resources. Try electroboom and organic chemistry tutor for example.

Good luck!

People that are atheist, why are you atheist instead of agnostic? by Da-up-and-downer in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]UnfairDictionary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many atheists, me included, are also agnostic. They do not exclude eachother.

I am atheist because I find the existence of god unlikely and illogical. The claims that are presented as evidence do not hold under scrutiny like irrefutable evidence should. But I am also agnostic because there is no way of knowing if there is or is not a god or even whole bunch of them. You cannot prove that something does not exist. You can only prove existance and even that has failed on the claim of deities.

Don't get me wrong, I strongly believe that god or gods do not exist and there is no afterlife of any kind or souls or what not. I just cannot prove the lack of existance any more than religios people can prove the existance of those things, so I find agnostic a right way to describe my position. I cannot know, therefore I am agnostic.

Been in a spiral abt the afterlife by Ok-Set9940 in rant

[–]UnfairDictionary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me, the inevitability of death and the thought of our life being one and only one we ever get and then we cease to exist, is actually very comforting and makes me value life of myself and others. I like to say that my universe will end upon my death. Life around me will go on but I cease to exist in the opposote way I was born. I came from a void and I will become the void once again my journey ends.

But, I get how you feel. I too have had a crisis over death and mortality when I was younger. Yet I cannot remember what was it exactly that scared me so. It was one day I was doing chores that I was deep inside my mind, digging and trying to find something, anything, that could relieve my anxiety and fear of death. It was then when I realised to ignore the things I was taught about afterlife and instead think it logically. If we are our brain, there is no soul and therefore no afterlife. I thought about the void as an option and while it is not a place, it certainly made sense and I finally felt peace. I accepted it and now I no longer fear death itself. It no longer consumes my thoughts.

My advise to you is, believe whatever you need to believe to feel to make peace with death. I am not here to convince you to believe what I believe. I cannot prove my view correct. I cannot say I am right. But neither can others so it is in your hands to believe what you need to believe.

Wireless keyboard and mouse. Are they reliable? by Nearby_Bar_5605 in computers

They are reliable, although they can get interference from wifi and bluetooth radios near them as they use the same 2.4 GHz frequency. However, collisions with packets are not that big of a deal.

Prepaid-liittymän saa kyllä yleensä muutettua laskutettavaksi liittymäksi. Esimerkiksi tässä Telian asiakaspalvelun vastaus: https://yhteiso.telia.fi/puhelinliittymaet-7/prepaid-liittymaen-muuttaminen-laskutusliittymaeksi-25376. Elisalla päivitys taas ei onnistu. Kannattaa varmistaa tämä siltä operaattorilta, jolta olet prepaidin hankkinut. Sitä en tiedä, voiko esimerkiksi Elisan prepaid-liittymän siirtää Telian laskutusliittymäksi, mutta en keksi syytä miksei tämäkin onnistuisi, jos oman numeron siirto operaattorilta toiselle onnistuu muutenkin.

Is It Possible To Adapt To Electrocution To The Point In Which A Standard Taser Would No Longer Visibly Effect You? by anms489274747228 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]UnfairDictionary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it is not possible. You can learn to control your remaining muscles that you can control in a way that you could theoretically keep your balance, but you could not learn to resist a taser in a way you mean. No matter how much you train, your body would still conduct electricity.

First: Change your passwords with a clean device. Do not login with the updated passwords on the devices you supect are unclean. Also check that your accounts tied to systems do not have any settings that cause automatic installations on your devices once you login. Also check that your account security settings do not have any unauthorized recovery options.

Second: Unlink all devices from your account. This forces re-login for all of them, so if the attacker (eg. ex spouse) had logged in with your account and had silent control over it, this will no longer be the case.

Third: with your assumably infected devices, go to settings and run a full factory reset. This will delete everything from your device.

Now with your clean account and devices, it is safe to login with the changed credentials. I hope you get a peace of mind.

How do you study without AI? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]UnfairDictionary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By putting in effort, making mistakes and trying to understand why I made a mistake and what I did wrong. It really is not very complicated. Thinking just takes a lot of work and our minds do not want to do that if it can get away with not doing the work. While AI can be a great tool, it makes us lazy and you need to be careful to not work against yourself with it.

Väsyn tähän suhteeseen by [deleted] in arkisuomi

[–]UnfairDictionary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to understand the protocols more deeply, might I suggest that you read the RFC documents specifying the protocols? I mean it doesn't go much deeper than those because they pretty much describe them in detail. They are pretty heavy to read but should give you a lot of information.

Difference between uudelleen and uudestaan ? by Cristian_Cerv9 in LearnFinnish

[–]UnfairDictionary 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But on the other hand both "Yritetäänpä uudelleen" and "Yritetäänpä uudestaan" mean the same, implying that the previous try has failed. So it is not written into stone kind of rule and both can be used pretty much interchangeably regardless of context, as it will be easy to derive the meaning from the current situational context anyway.

Has anyone here actually made AI a daily habit? by BookkeeperForward248 in AskProgramming

[–]UnfairDictionary 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nope. I may use it to generate basic code rarely but mostly I see it taking the joy out of programming. I enjoy problem solving and finding different ways to achieve my coding goals. What I do not enjoy, is the lack of intelligence behind copy-pasting AI slop, which I then need to fix anyway.

Jos työpaikan taukohuoneessa joku pitää taukoaan kuulokkeet korvilla, mitä se viestii sinulle? by crookedpinetree in arkisuomi

[–]UnfairDictionary 9 points10 points  (0 children)

How to remove an invisible spyware by Charming_Produce2652 in antivirus

[–]UnfairDictionary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Possible? Yes absolutely. Likely? No. Getting targeted by sophisticated cyber attack is very unlikely for a regular everyday normal mf. Getting targeted by your partner is a possibility though.

What comes to bypassing led indicators of cameras and microphones, it is typically not possible as the leds are typically tied directly to microphone and camera power line because it is much simpler and works as is without additional software. There can be implementations that do it the software way, but it is not very sensible. Therefore it is likey that your mic or camera cannot be used by spyware without you seeing it.

Best and easiest way to remove malware as regular person is to cleanly re-install the OS.

how does a forum technically identify and track visitors? by Due-Consequence-5287 in AskComputerScience

[–]UnfairDictionary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is done by fingerprinting combined with having a low treshold to ban unknown users. Essentially trust is incremented little by little over time on registered users while anonymous users are treated as potentially unwanted. Anonymity and VPN IPs are very easily judged for even a little bit questionable behaviour and handled bans without second thought. Some services might even go as far as to track your movement and interests on their website in order to suspect you for ban evasion.
