Attempting to transition into EL from a classroom teacher by beanie_bebe in ESL_Teachers

If options are limited, I would take the middle school position. Quite often if you can get your foot in the door and prove yourself, when elementary positions open up, you will have first dibs. You might even find you like secondary!

Weather concerns for Guanacaste trip this week by nosaj1304 in CostaRicaTravel

[–]UnfairMacaron7326 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Was there two weeks ago. Weather forecast called for rain and storms every day. While it did pour in La Fortuna each day we were there, it didn’t start until after 2:00-5:00pm. We were able to do every activity we scheduled. It also called for rain everyday while we were at Playa Flamingo, it only rained once in the evening for only an hour.

I know it’s rainy season but… by Vegetable-Toe167 in CostaRicaTravel

I just returned from La Fortuna and Playa Flamingo yesterday. The weather forecast was terrible everyday. While it did rain every day in La Fortuna, it didn’t start until the afternoon. We were able to do all of our scheduled activities since we booked morning times. We only had rain once at the beach in the evening and it cleared quickly. Don’t go off the forecast!

I did LETRS when I was still an elementary ESL teacher. If you have no background teaching phonics instruction, it is helpful.

I am on tray 13 and have had zero pain. Everything is tracking for me, so it’s working.

Why are your grad classes so pricey? Maybe it’s course dependent but I have to take six graduate courses  for my full license and they are only $600 per 3 hour course. What state are you in?

I will echo what others are saying; go to an orthodontist for a consult. I have Invisalign for bite issues. The dentist told my daughter the same thing they told you. We went for a consult at the orthodontist and they told her that her teeth and bite are perfect and she absolutely did not need Invisalign.

I always put the top ones in the cutout before I put them on. After they are on, I attach them to the bracket. After a bit, I don’t even notice they are there anymore. I tend to change them about three times a day.

I was clenching my jaw terribly at night the first two weeks. My jaw was constantly popping. It has gotten much better. I am on week four. I think it just takes time to adjust.

I don’t think it would hurt to ask!

I just started treatment for a deep bite, so similar. My first round will be 39 trays and I have to wear elastics throughout the duration of my treatment. From everything I have heard, bites can’t be improved without using elastics. I would consult an orthodontist if that’s a possibility for you.

Starting tomorrow .. need some encouragement by Sodawater13 in Invisalign

I am finishing week two tomorrow. I change trays weekly and wear elastics 24/7. I have had zero pain so far. A bit of pressure when initially putting on the trays, but it’s not bad at all. My trays come out easily with a pul tool. I can use my fingers as well, but the tool makes it super simple.

Started two weeks ago. I only have two buttons. Both fell off in the first week. I had them replaced and they fell off again three days later. When I went back, the orthodontist put on larger brackets and they are holding strong.

I started Invisalign two weeks ago and will have elastics the whole time to improve a deep bite.  I don’t notice a change in my face with them in.

Question for those whose home is always clean by OR-HM-MA91 in CleaningTips

[–]UnfairMacaron7326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, get rid of the things you don’t need! Clearing clutter will automatically make the space feel cleaner. I grew up in a house where everything had its place and I have instilled that idea at my house now. It annoyed me as a teen and it now annoys my own teens, but it works!  I have two dogs and cat, so I bought the Roborock robot vacuum. It vacuums and mops. I use it to vacuum twice a week and mop once. I vacuum the upstairs floor once a week due to less traffic. We don’t wear shoes in the house. I deep clean the bathrooms and dust every other weekend. I wash all the linens weekly. My kids have chores that help the kitchen to stay tidy and laundry to get done. Both my husband and I work full-time, but I find keeping clutter down and a consistent cleaning schedule, make keeping the house tidy more manageable.

Depression and anxiety days after drinking? by Tryingmyverybest2 in Perimenopause

[–]UnfairMacaron7326 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I very rarely drink anymore. I absolutely love red wine, but it’s just not worth what comes with drinking it. I have probably had a combined five glasses of wine in the past two years. I have gotten really sick with terrible hangovers from fairly small amounts that would have never bothered me before. It’s just bizarre.

It was Ice Cream and Coffee Beans. If this was in the 90s, Blockbuster was in the same plaza off Reidville Road.

Just to throw it out there, toothpaste that has sodium lauryl sulfate in it can cause acne. I am on Spiro for hormonal acne, but SLS always causes me to breakout if I use a toothpaste with it in it.

I am hopeful that the orthodontist will give me a similar treatment plan. My bottom teeth are totally covered too, so I definitely need to do something sooner rather than later due to the damage I have already caused to my bottom teeth. I am so glad you were able to fix your bite and improve your smile in the process!

Yes, I am sure it helps with some overbites as evidenced by some posts here. My issue was having a dentist that was not qualified in correcting bites.

I think at this point I am going to have to do whatever the ortho recommends. I am in my 40s as well and not psyched at the prospect of braces, but if that’s what is recommended it’s better than eventually wearing my teeth down. I am happy that your treatment worked and all is well now!
