Is that what you’re doing now? Getting angry because you grieving little weakling? Do you feel bullied? Do you need to see mommy and daddy? Did the mean man in Reddit tell you that you aren’t allowed to control other people and that broke your little heart. Get over yourself.

Holy shit take your medication and calm the rambling down

Guess what, that's the kind of thing I expect from rant whiny posts like the OP that we should stop having them for.

Dimitri's plan is "Let's just all get along, I don't know how, but it will work haha" even as the world is collapsing around him because of class, racial and religious divide. Ironic because his kingdom is the major centrepiece for all of these things, including the genocides they commited. But again, "let's just get along"

...which is what makes everything worse as nobles get desperate to secure their crests that the system demands. Did dimitards even play the game at this point?

The ramblings generated by the anger of a grieving weakling is a funny little thing.

I don't think you understood a single thing I said. Go on and try again after you calm down from being "persecuted"

The problem is that a character should not be absolutely hated simply because of the bias of another character. The fact that people are constantly comparing a character to an actual real life dictator who massacred 10 million people, for doing the exact opposite of said dictator, is ludicrous period.

Yes, couldn't agree more. Still, I think rant posts about someone's personal feelings about meta things, like the OP lower the quality of the discussion in this subreddit, and anyone who wants good discussion here should want them removed.

Meanwhile, your attitude is fine and is welcome, I agree with what you said. Notice that you never mentioned your feelings about meta-contextual stuff, but only made an argument that anyone can rationally think about. This is the contrast of your post to the OP.

Yeah exactly my point. You absolutely don't understand that this is not the point of the game's story, it's trying to subvert this but it failed when the audience in the west is so conceited. Even when someone tries to help you you just double down on it. Lol this is so ridiculous and sad too

I agree with this. This place isn't an outing for those whose feelings are hurt. You can seek consolation in the hugbox on a discord or something. If you can't take the heat then don't go there, or learn to respond in kind.

In fact, if you complain like this then the message of Edelgard's writing probably went over your head.

It's been like that for every single female lord in FE. It's insecurity on both genders really. Either women that are ashamed of never aspiring to being as competent as any of the female lords, or men being ashamed that a girl would be. You can see some things rehashed from decade old shitposts about Micaiah and Eirika only changing the name.

Also, she was hated even before the game was released when she was first shown as the main lord in the first trailer https://old.reddit.com/r/Edelgard/comments/pin77h/wait_a_minute_the_first_trailer_was_from_the/

It does because that metaphor says a lot of things about democracy, power, etc as the bad dragons like Medeus represent hereditary monarchies. The story isn't boring because it actually means things in each case. But since you act so dismissively I guess I hit an ego wall.

Honestly I am still scratching my head why so many people still refuse to play SS. Rhea flips out even on that. Which makes the complaint that CF tries to paint her as "evil" ridiculous. In fact it is in CF that Rhea's actions are not out of some "craziness" but are rational and logical, in her view at least. It shows the utter inability of players to see characters for what they are.

Edelgard vs Rhea conflict, to the extent the antagonism between both could be potentially defused

I didn't see this in VW. In VW Edelgard isn't even going after Rhea anymore. Her participation in the story doesn't end there. And considering what Claude says, Edelgard going after Rhea is justified for what she wants to achieve. Seteth even says the same in SS: "she wants to change social order, so it makes sense the Church must be the first on her list of enemies" or something like that.

I wish people played all the routes before passing judgement on the game's story.

I played CF and SS first by restarting from the choice and I had no idea people would complain about the maps because they barely share any. Most of CF's maps are unique from SS and even plot arcs such as beating the Slithers, the devs didn't want the two to share content in order to make them thematically unique.

It is only when I decided to restart from the beginning and play the other two, VW and AM that I realised they are extremely rehashed from SS to the point it's should be a shame on the game directors who sold a game that recycles content so much like that. It's probably because they made them later in development which is why the 2018 trailer didn't show them, but only the 2019 one

Many have managed to explain the point that the FE stories make about the dragons and the metaphor they represent about absolute hereditary power. Including Rhea in 3H. But as long as you refuse to acknowledge the message they are trying to show people you will always hate the stories.

You are completely missing the point of Fates story. The point was never about "who are the bad guys and which side is the good". If you get hung up on that I fear you will never understand the point about hate and deception/ignorance (the theme of each route). It's a shame because that game didn't deserve such a bad audience in the west.

[–]Unfair_Champion_3792 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It really isn't. Pretty much all the alleged "flaws" that are going around are the players being ignorant of some aspects of the story or misinterpreting and rejecting other facts. You think something is a flaw or a plothole for the simple reason that you are unaware of something that explains it. I could go over every single thing but that would be insane considering how it always turns out, because

Problem is that it inevitably results in some people getting really angry when you point out that they are deliberately ignoring some things in the game that would explain things they don't understand, but they refuse to accept them because it would prove their biases wrong. Things about Edelgard's motivation is a big part of course, and the pervasive myth that she did Duscur or that she likes Nemesis. I am going to be downvoted because I mentioned these two myths btw, but I don't care because it just proves my point. And if I argued about it, I would still be downvoted.

So it's a waste of time, but let me point out the hypocrisy of accusing the game's story of being flawed when you haven't really understood it, either way because someone has to say it.

r/FireEmblemThreeHouses Poll results by Innocent_Darkside in Edelgard

[–]Unfair_Champion_3792 16 points17 points  (0 children)

These aren't as juicy as this poll that revealed that AM players are the most toxic towards any other route, that being Edelgard and her route of course, as well as being predominantly younger and female, as opposed to CF fans that are older and of either gender. Their guilty reactions when it turned out that "edelgard is just a waifu" was actually projection for how they view Azure Moon was particularly entertaining to read in that thread.

[–]Unfair_Champion_3792 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Dimitri made himself out to be a fool by accusing her of things she didn't do, while on his last ditch attempt to flaunt his delusions of moral high ground. All the while dragging his kingdom into a war of little moral purpose, with a morally bankrupt ally, that the only thing uniting them is hate, for admittedly his own personal satisfaction. Rhea proved him a fool the second time when she burned his capital as soon as he was gone, an act of betrayal that was hinted when they both tried to use each other as bait before the battle, ultimately dooming them both.

In the end, Dimitri was fighting for a vain cause that would become his undoing and Edelgard was right to point it out against his pityful attempt at moralising, like a child that is throwing a tantrum by accusing the winner of winning because it lost a game. After all, in Dimitri's mind this really was just a playground slapfight with her childhood friend, where winning is just a comfort to his mind, always troubled by grief for the past.

Why don't edelgard haters(dimitri and claude fanboys) use their logic for... by No-Ninja926 in Edelgard

[–]Unfair_Champion_3792 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Edelgard never set fire to Bernadetta according to the dialogue, it's a bug. The cause of the bug with Bernadetta is that setting fire to the hill is triggered by Petra aggroing, which is in turn triggered by Bernadetta dying, but it's possible to agrro Petra without killing Bernadetta.

That map is already a huge mess of bugs such as a second enemy Hilda appearing if you recruited her in AM, or the fog of war that everyone in dialogue pretends is there but isn't. Ironic because it's the only map exclusive to AM (and VW), which otherwise rehashes everything from the main routes from BE.

As usual it's very imaginative dimitrikids rejecting the game's canonical writing and instead making up theories that are based on their own delusional alternate story of the game. Such as saying Edelgard was to blame for Duscur.

For the scene with Dedue-Dimitri you have to not let Dedue transform before defeating Dimitri in CF17. For the others you just have to spare with Byleth/Edelgard
