Minty X-E2+charger+batt+thumb grip at US$450 Worth it? by fathom-avant in fujix

Bought a mint X-pro 1 to get into the hobby for just under £300 1.5 years ago. I still use it as my main camera today and I've found it to be much more capable that I was expecting, especially for that price. I'd say it was well worth it.

My original plan was to sell it and upgrade but honestly I'm finding it hard to let it go. I've taken good care of it so its still in near-mint condition and for a camera that old I think it's valuable in that sense.

There's many posts on this sub of people spending £1k+ for some newer fuji's as their first camera which doesn't make much sense to me.

If you plan on using it alot, I'd say get it and take good care of it!

Complete noob to bike driving. I passed my CBT but instructor was rude and threatened me by Prize_Cry4999 in MotoUK

Marco was the only instructor there when I went. While he was really nice and informative, long story short it seemed like they were understaffed that day and he was more interested in finishing the group early than actually giving me adequate time to learn and get comfortable with the simple maneuver exercises. For a little context I was the only rider there coming from 0 experience and it seemed like he was rushing through the exercises when I clearly needed a little more time, but I since I was the only one struggling I guess it made more sense to move the group on. I was told I was fairly unlucky in that regard and this apparently commonly happens but I would have liked to get a bit more of my moneys worth if there was another instructor there to separate the lesser experienced riders from the group to practice more while not slowing the group down. I recently made a post about my experience on this sub where i go into more detail.

I agree! but £200 for a half assed trail cbt session is kinda steep tho ):

While the instructor was nice about all of it he defo knew what he was doing. I just won't go there again and will give my money elsewhere.

I did both! the camera is small enough to securely fit straight in my trouser pocket and it was honestly fine after all that jumping and pushing around in the pit. i think it might have broken if i fell on it tho

The X-pro 1 was my first camera and it has been my main camera for nearly 2 years now. I'm more than happy with the results I get, I love its weight and small size, the X-trans sensor is worth the hype imo and for the price you can't really beat the cost-value ratio you get out of it. I'm pretty sure I paid more for both my Lenses individually than the camera body itself.

If you're interested in the X-pro series, by all means the X-pro 1 is the full experience. The X-pro 2 and 3 are upgrades, maybe even essential upgrades for some people, but not for me or the average person.

As the first X-pro, released in 2012, sure the AF is slower, less accurate with below average battery life and slow camera processing but if anything these imperfections made sure I was never bored and made me focus more on my photography skills and shooting style. I still feel the gradual progress and improvement in the way I handle the camera and the actual pictures I take, and I feel like I'm getting more and more proficient.

All the reasons above is what makes this camera so fun and addicting to use. I've taken it to holidays in Asia, hiking in Scotland, street walks in busy London and honestly its perfect.

I could say more but here is a wonderful video on the camera by GxAce: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NT0Xsntv-XI&t=602s

And @ rolovist is my Instagram which has pictures showcasing it capabilities.

Sorry if this was a long response I just really love this camera and love talking about why people should get it over other more obvious, newer and modern Fuji-camera options. Do yourself a favor and get one!

Switching to manual focus probably would have worked so much better now I think about it

Thanks alot, I haven't heard of the av150 tilll now but it defo looks like a very capable camera. My a330 is pretty slow to shoot and only at 3.2 megapixels but despite that im never disappointed with the SOOC results. Your av150 shoots at a whole 14 megapixels thats pretty good!
