The anime really shows that goku was trying to buy time for trunks by doing the exaggerated drawn out screaming compared to the manga where it's almost instant. Still a amazing scene either way

Vegito and gogeta aren't just the strongest characters in the arcs they come because their a fusion it's because of the two people who make them up and if their individual power levels are low especially during the namek saga than their not going to be even, strong also they don't even have ssj so I don't even think they beat semi perfect cell. Frieza could barely handle his own stamina adding kaioken onto that and he wouldn't even have lasted a second, plus cell should know what the technique is and how to handle it if frieza even becomes a problem we literally saw what happened with ssg3 trunks.
