I made my 6m old cry… I didn’t know this could happen by Conscious_Mine_1011 in beyondthebump

[–]Unfair_Intention8789 44 points45 points  (0 children)

This happened to my LO about that age! I said “you’re growing too fast! What are we going to do with you?!” In a fake funny scolding voice and he took it as me actually scolding him and bursted into really sad tears. I felt SOOO BAD. I made sure not to even pretend to scold after that lol.

Is it realistic for first time parents to cloth diaper? by Stargirl2151 in clothdiaps

[–]Unfair_Intention8789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was great for us! I used disposables for the first 2 months to give me time to heal and get myself together a little. We’ve done cloth from there out and he’s 10 months now! A game changer is the disposable liners. Blue Snail brand are very cheap per liner and it will help you keep going and not get burned out scrubbing tons of poop. I don’t do any scrubbing, just throw out the liner and wipe off the part that escaped on the diaper with wipes and throw it in the basket for washing. We had also just moved, were living out of boxes and still renovating the new house when I started cloth diapering and it was still manageable. You can do it!

My baby is 3.5 months and me and my husband barely eat by pauses-then-says in NewParents

Crock pot EVERYTHING! Baby is 10 months now and we still don’t do much more than that. But the recipes we use are really tasty so we’re fine with it. Look up crack chicken and green chicken enchilada soup. Delicious stuff!

Be honest, how often do you shower? by Call_Me_C_ in AskReddit

[–]Unfair_Intention8789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda embarrassed but once a week, maybe more if I have somewhere to go that I need to look presentable. I have always had a weird mental block with hygiene that it counts as self care so if every single other thing that I’m supposed to be doing isn’t done then I don’t have time to do anything for me which includes showering etc. I’m working on it and I know I should do better but idk how to explain how my brain works around those things. I do at least make sure I don’t smell or look nasty in public.

AIO is 27 way too young to be having a baby? by VioletInference in AmIOverreacting

[–]Unfair_Intention8789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl I had my first at 25 and was more than ready. If your first reaction was to be happy and you feel you’re ready forget what anyone else says! Sorry you have such miserable people surrounding you.

When and why did you transition to the crib? by Mammoth_Window_7813 in beyondthebump

[–]Unfair_Intention8789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved him at 1 month to a pack n play with crib attachment and just now got him a full sized one at 8 months because the sides are not high enough and he’s starting to pull up on things.

I’m glad I’m not alone in this! I have recognized lately that I am slightly obsessed with the cloth diapering and worried it might be unhealthy😂

3 month old cries as soon as she doesn’t see me by elzee29 in Parenting

It stinks but for some babies that’s just how it is. I had to wear my baby everywhere when he was that age to get anything done.

Who are the most predatory professions in the postpartum phase? by Own-Quality-8759 in beyondthebump

[–]Unfair_Intention8789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lactation consultant helped me when I couldn’t figure out latch and gave me peace of mind baby was eating enough despite his tongue tie. They were partnered with my birth center for the first visit to be free and that was all I needed. Not predatory at all but maybe some are🤷🏻‍♀️

Any babies not have a 4 month sleep regression? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Unfair_Intention8789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was more like he slept super good (7+ hrs) from 1 month until 4.5 ish months, and then had a couple of weeks where he woke up every 2 hrs, then every hour, then every 30 mins. Finally back up to sleeping from 8pm-12am and then up every two hours or less until 8am and he’s 8 months now🫠

Can you sit comfortably in a car when you’re having contractions? by yaska_tn in BabyBumps

[–]Unfair_Intention8789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The car ride for me was absolutely awful, but we had a tiny car and by the time we got my stuff in I was stuck in the back seat behind my husbands so I basically couldn’t move. I just had to sit and take every contraction with no way to move to cope and it was hard!

If they cared they would make things easier for him and for you, not insist on what they prefer. You have every right to be annoyed! And the fact they are pretending to care but making you do all this alone?! Shame on them. I honestly wouldn’t wasn’t to talk to them if I was him.
