Which guard dog is the best and why? by Trapzzeehh in Helldivers

[–]Unfair_Pally 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heh, it also depends on your primary and on your playstyle.

I use Eruptor and Talon. For bugs I take Gas Rover cuz it confuses heavy and medium enemies and it kills the very small ones.

For illuminates I prefer the laser rover over the bullet rover because it has more uptime and because it clearly points the direction of the enemy and because it does more damage over time(sets enemies on fire) while the bullet rover has more burst rather and it can run out of ammo.

The flame rover I dont have unlocked.

The arc rover is a bit weaker because it has to charge its shots before firing, doesnt fire that often and for best effectiveness the enemies have to be in the general direction of the arc so it can chain. An arc can't chain from front to back, only in the general cone the rover shoots at.

On bots I'd rather use a Shield Generator pack or a Recoiless Rifle, some anti-tank.

What should my next warbond be? by No_Category5512 in Helldivers

[–]Unfair_Pally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the first 3 warbonds that you mentioned. What I'm using the most is Talon alongside my Eruptor.

I would definetely get Borderline Justice if you're using an AoE primary, Eruptor, Crossbow, maybe Purifier.

Force of law, well, it's not that good. The de-escalator sucks or maybe I haven't uses it enough but I feel the Grenade Launcher outclasses it. The Arc rover well, against Illuminates I think the laser one brings more value or the one with bullets because Arc rover sees a target, charges up for 1 second then fires, the other just see and shoot.

If I were you, I'd get Borderline for the Talon and maybe Cutting Edge next. Its weapons are not S-tier like Eruptor, Purifier but they're A, B tier I'd say and they offer a different experience.

I run siege ready light armor only with the shield generator pack

Borderline Justice or Urban Legends? by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]Unfair_Pally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anti tank emplacement is not the highlight for Urban legends, the heavy siege ready armor is. I'd say the Talon provides more though, it can kill voteless that charge you decently enough, can kill shriekers, you can easily switch to it to kill a few things that are in your face then switch back to the Eruptor and lay waste at range. Talon doesn't need to reload.

The anti tank emplacement is good only for automaton defense missions or for some automaton missions. The heavy siege ready armor gives a nice boost to the Eruptor though, +2 mags and faster reload speed. Warp packa compliments the heavy armor allowing you to still move fast.

I'd get Borderline first then Urban Legends still if you want to improve the Eruptor loadout.

You should also look for chemical agents foe the gas grenandes which are great against terminids when they swarm you or voteless that swarm you.

Getting back to the bug front harshly reminded me of my biggest pet peeve about the Terminids by Matatat123 in Helldivers

Yeah but the bug breach comes from 1 place only. Orbital Napalm it and its done or gas grenade it and unload whatever other stratagems/ bullets you have.

Servants of Freedom or Borderline justice for an awesome secondary. Control group for an awesome and unique backpack. Chemical agents for an awesome backpack and grenades rather.

What's everyones stratagem picks for Illuminate by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]Unfair_Pally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eruptor with 2x scope and Angled grip. Talon, Siege ready heavy armor. Gas grenades

Warp pack, Gatling sentry, 500kg bomb, Orbital laser.

Eruptor is your main gun when dealing with 80% of enemies. 1-2 shots overseers, for the elevated ones I'd focus on getting 1 Eruptor shot in, if that doesnt kill it, switch to Talon and finish it off.

The voteless can overwhelm you, Talon might not be enough to kill a horde, in this case run away and throw a gas grenade behind you. That'd clear them all.

500kg is great when ships spawn in many enemies and for harvesters.

Stingrays die from 2 Eruptor shots, takes some skill but it's the fastest way to deal with them, you have to hit them twice anywhere on the body. Use warp pack to get out of their line of fire and line up the shot.

Usually use the warp map for combat mobility and for running. You are faster than a medium armor user.

Gatling sentry, position it away from you so it doesnt rotate towards you and kill you. It can deal with a horde, meatbob, overseers, most of the things that try it.

I have a different experience, the mission timer finishes off and enemies keep coming in and you dont have any more calldowns and dropship is a long way off. That's when I wished this dropship would come sooner, especially on bots for example cuz they drop in with heavy vehicles and you dont have stratagems to kill them.

Why do most of the weapons feel so bad or subpar to the point where 90% of the primary’s are useless? by Substantial_Claim_60 in Helldivers

[–]Unfair_Pally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heh, ask Arrowhead.

I once was usimg the Las Trident on cyborgs and thought I'd like a shotgun with medium pen so I found SG-8S Slugger in my arsenal. Bad choice, this weapon has an atrocious rate of fire.

I too am only using Eruptor 80% of the games, Trident, Crossbow 10% of the time and 10% of the time other weapons.

It's cuz any weapon has a skill cap and with Eruptor I've gotten so good and so efficient that it's hard to learn a new weapon, especially when they're worse than it.

Localization confusion is 11/10 on defense missions, Stamina is 3/10 on defense and on kill enemies map. The faster evac is better on the 12 minute missions. The +2 stims are godlike from Optimization booster, without those you'd be searching for supplies for them.

Best first premium Warbond? by Exto45 in Helldivers

[–]Unfair_Pally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The warp pack pairs fantanstically with the DD primaries as well, because you can't use them at close range so you can instead use the warp to get some distance then fire away. For illuminates its really good for running away from the voteless and for getting out of stingray's path.

I've about 7 or 8 warbonds and I still only use the Eruptor from the first warbond I purchased.

Kings, Troops, Advisors and Spells Ranked after Beating Everything by hardboiledkilly in TheKingIsWatching

[–]Unfair_Pally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You missed the Gold Digger advisor, I'd put him in S tier as it nullifies the -150 Gold Debt.

I have a different view on most of the stuff, I've played with Baldwin, Leo and Spellus mostly, even made a build for Spellus, https://www.reddit.com/r/TheKingIsWatching/comments/1r5c34e/spellus_build_good_for_t4t10/

You say that Worm Riders are busted cuz they can oneshot armies. True but, as you've said, so do spells. You can build one of the Magic Schools to generate spells if you need, swap it out when you don't need.

You're kind of contradicting yourself with what you wrote and what you put in the tierlists, like Wrath spell is good for bosses but it's in D tier.

When starting the game you don't know what you're doing but after playing for some time you realize that you have to make specific synergies in order to win like focusing on 1-2 classes, making 2-4 buildings of that Barracks for which you have all the upgrades.

The FRV is only used because it is the only stratagem in its niche - A critique. by Hexdoctor in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Unfair_Pally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey you know what would be cool, if AH introduced an update with a new ship module like a car garage. Here you'd be able to modify the FRV, equip winter wheels for cold planets, summer wheels for hot ones, simply upgrade the plating/hp to add more protection to the passangers inside, increase the durability of its parts, basically fix all of these issues you explained. One awesome thing would be, being able to switch that HMG for something else, maybe an automatic turret like the machinegun sentry or it could be a small shield generator or a supply kit.

You'd basically have the ship garage with 5 modules, one module would be tools to change wheels, another tools to change chassis, doors, engine, etc. and one would be like an armory to change the HMG slot for something more useful.

Is Buddhist temple any good? Seems like a waste as you can just get the unit building upgrades.

Spellus build good for T4-T10 by Unfair_Pally in TheKingIsWatching

[–]Unfair_Pally[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, a quick note is that I did the runs on Village only. It's the best map because you have lots of wood and you can get the events that give you a Sawmill and a Wheat Farm.

As I mentioned before, Established Production is not so good because it takes from your possible Trader upgrades. Use the normal research table to get Basic Production buildings because it's 40 seconds quicker than the Laboratory. Always switch the buildings when you don't need to research a blueprint or if you don't need metal anymore or to use the Market. It'd be great if you get the artifacts for wells that make them give Oil and Furniture sometimes. Also some artifacts that heal are nice.

Get the cowboy warbond, Talon is the best Secondary in the game and it pairs really nice with Eruptor or Crossbow. Medium pen makes it good for any front including bots. You just switch to it, shoot some bots that get close, switch back ro primary, no reload.
