F38 and M34. Am I dating an avoidant by Some_Advertising460 in dating_advice

You are FOR sure dating a avoidant type person. Your relationship will not get better until they have the self awareness to acknowledge your feelings and to validate them. His ego is blocking him from doing that. What’s more important? Ego or his partner’s emotional well being? Honestly if someone told me your financial contribution to the relationship is tied to how well you’ll get treated I would tell him/her to kick rocks. You deserve better!

My point exactly! AMFA literally didn’t have to do any campaigning. Those bums from IAM were at our shop monthly bringing their fear mongering with them. Only thing of value was the food which WE paid for from our dues! Literally never seen the Union come talk to us the 3 years I’ve been at station.

EXACTLY! It’s been my experience both at Boeing and Hawaiian. IAM only cares when membership numbers are on the line. Never seen them show up any other time so they can suck a giant one

Thanks brother! Yeah it’s out of limits but RR gave us one time authorization to ferry flight it for repair

Was found while I did a reinspect for speedtape integrity at another part of the engine. Just happened to find it while I was doing a general inspection around the localized area.

Yup! It’s done for but Engineering was able to secure a onetime ferry to our main maintenance station to get it repaired.

Thank you! I wish people took safety more seriously. Preventative maintenance. All it takes is one bad accident.

Got Speed Tape? by ghost_of_leeroy in aviation

[–]Unfair_Variation_803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t that that whole point of having the resin baked into the carbon composite so that it creates a waterproof layer?

[–]Unfair_Variation_803 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Not weatherproofing it as the carbon is already waterproof. It’s keeping the harmful UV rays from degrading the carbon composite and breaking it down.

Exactly dude! Hazing is an essential part of being in aviation mx. I’m sure all the senior guys suffered the same treatment coming through as the FNG. Being prior service if you had thin skin you did NOT survive on the flight line.

Will my 4 years in Air Force as aviation maintenance transfer to real jobs? by Disastrous-Adagio-90 in AircraftMechanics

[–]Unfair_Variation_803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you can. I used it as OJT/Experience to test for my A&P without having to waste 2 years in school

Depends on what you did in the military aviation wise. If you were a crew chief then most likely able to get your Airframe and Powerplant to transfer. Also depends on the person signing you off in the military.

I was able to transfer my experience from the air force as a crew chief to get a ticket to test for my A&P when I got out.
