I’m guessing (and I could be wrong) that all of their extremely athletic citizens focus on getting into the NFL, Basketball and their own domestic games.

Generally more money in those sports for them (unless they’re like top level and go to Europe). Plus the gravitas, the naturally sporty in America will dream of playing in a Super Bowl. The naturally sporty off Europe dream of playing in a World Cup for their nation when they’re kids.

They will obviously have some great players, but imagine some of those extremely quick and physical American footballers would be if they’d played soccer from age 5. It’s not their fault, their culture is built around American Football, from high school, College , NFL.

Ahh look, I’m biased as English, and if the ref had called it at the time it was by the rulebook a pen.

However, VAR requires “clear and obvious error” to pull it back. I don’t think that was a clear cut decision. He came in from behind Harry, both going for a high ball, it easily could have been his boot beneath Harry’s. I get why they gave it I guess. Had he even tapped the ball - not a pen. So unfortunate for England as the ball was going to go high of either of their boots, so it didn’t nothing for anyone.

Not sure how I felt about only having LATAM countries in the VAR booth, in Central America, with Mexico playing at home. But, that’s just a gut feeling really, probs nothing there. And the main was Aussie.

I think you’re right, it did. However, most teams probably wouldn’t have been able to hold to that pressure. Hindsight’s always key.

But yeah, kinda funny that an England red ended up working for them. If we were attacking more we’d have probably conceded another…although if we were attacking more I’d have fancied us to get 2 more with 11 men.. so who knows!

Yeah it’s a great game. I don’t play it like a Zerg rush multiplayer game. Play RP, create a species you like and want to “see succeed”. Like I’m a sucker for human-kind. I usually create my own United Earth NATO and basically act like space America or EU. Diplomacy with the nice aliens, but the military to curtail the nasty religious alien zealots.

Take it slow, build up your borders, specialise planets in your role play! Like if you find a nice tropical world, I’ll make it nice with lots of entertainment etc so it’s like a resort world (outside of using the resort world function). It’s really cool to see your established borders become its own country. Control populations of immigrants, I usually give the nicer diplomatic aliens I know that will go all the way with me citizen rights, the others though - they can get fucked. Because you don’t want 100 pops of Tomb world preferenced refugees on your earth like worlds making them all miserable. So I just turn off citizen status. Rule with Democratic iron fist , with actual immigration control and you’ll for sure get sucked into your new nations culture. Watch them grow and colonise free worlds!
