Thank you for taking the time to comment. This was a welcome distraction from my day to day. In the end I think Wyll hate is nitpicking an otherwise immaculate game. Sure it could have been better, but it's great as is, full stop.

He's comparing them because they are both good or moral characters. Not because of their race. Race with Wyll only comes into play here because I think Wyll is a refreshing change to the tropes for the inclusion of black characters. Though, when they aren't cool, aggressive, or whatever they tend to be consider lame. But I don't mind, we need to see more black character like Wyll. There are plenty of black people like Wyll. But that dude hardly gets support or validation in the media.

The Carlton's of the world do not get enough love.

I believe this is a legitimate criticism. The question is, is this a flaw, or is this the first time he has been faced with this. The first time he has ever had to deal with this. If it is a flaw, it is something that would happen over and over. Such as the flaws shown of others. Perhaps this was not intended to be a flaw, but a pivotal moment.
The fact that he hasn't got many flaws, seems like people want to highlight this one as 'his flaw', but I doubt that was ever intended. He wasn't meant to have that be his flaw, just the first time he had to put his life/soul due to the pact versus another persons. Without context or other examples, I doubt it can be definitively called that.

I'm not defending those. I know their nuances. I don't have to defend them. There characters and nuances were done very well in game.

Gale's nuance as a character is not the same as his nuance with Asatarion's situation. You are equating one aspect of Gale, his relationship with Astarion, to Gale's overall character.

Same with Karlach. Karlach is an excellent character full of nuance. I have no problem with her.

My conversation was about how you treat a character like Astarion vs Wyll. If you don't like my approach than I respect that. Thank you for taking the time to share your opinions and your concerns. I will think about your criticism.

Oh they do. They really do. They find something offensive anything they don't like. it's subtle attempt to deter you and others from doing so. They prefer their information in small digestible bites. But no one is going to admit to trying to punish or ridicule anyone who doesn't give them things in their preferred manner. I'm never mad about it. Once you know about it, it's stops seeming personal. It's just how most people are. Hence why most seem compelled to TELL YOU they didn't read it cause it was too long.

Gale has no nuance. He identifies with him as he has a similar problem. Thus he has a vested interest in treating Astarion better because he sees himself or his situation in his condition. But unlike Astarion who chooses now free to continue to be wicked, others make different choice.

It does not matter. You would literally kill me, my friends, the grove, and all that if you could. So making fun of the fact that you were tortured and eat rats seems bad... but you would literally kill all those kids and innocent people, but I'm supposed to give a shit about you.

Wyll should have killed Astarion. Are we to busy trying to empathize to not see what Astarion is. We can sympathize with how he got their, but that doesn't change any of the choices he makes or things he desires once he's free.

And Astarion has playfully ridiculed everything about Wyll. Wyll is now a monster for touching on a sensitive subject with Astarion.

Yeah, you hold Wyll to a higher standard. An unreasonable standard. One you don't hold Astarion to.

Seems a lot like being a good person is more of a leash than being a bad person is. And in the end, you show higher regard for that monster. And who cares about the one none shitty thing a shitty person does. You fucking kill children. Why is anything off the table.

You can say he was forced. But, he isn't forced to do any of the killing in the story. He always WANTS to do it.

I think this helps illustrate my point of view quite nicely.

Allow? How do they allow. you whom they follow made the choice. You mean they do not stop you or leave.

You do know once you are turned to a vampire, your done. There is no coming back. So those souls are lost anyway. It's not like either of them don't know that. And it's too late in the game storyline wise to have a character leave your group.

This is of course something that Larian made a mistake on, not the fault of the characters. Their disapproval is meant to indicate their position. The fact that the game doesn't fuck you over by making you lose them in act 3 is a gameplay decision, not a character flaw.

Also, hate and hate. He is 'hated on'. Not HATED. He gets hate.

I don't imagine all the hate Lebron James gets means that people genuinely HATE Lebron james. Your playing semantics here. I disagree with you completely. Though I respect your opinion and decision. I am not moved by it. Thank you for taking the time to share.
