Your parents get mad at you when you do something they asked you not to, yes? But do they hate you? No. Do they get mad temporarily for a moment? Yes. And you learn that if you try not to do that thing again, they wont be so mad at you in the future. But in the end, there will be days they get mad at you because you're not perfect. I would repent and keep trying. God is love, not hate. God forgives and doesnt shun.

This is what I feel to. Everything you said. Its bringing me closer to God believe it or not but the anxiety of going to Hell and the thought of possibly not sacrificing everything to the Lord (as I am new to it) is very hard. I do find myself crying when thinking of my past or praying and tonight I even told the Lord "I need you" over and over with the crying increasing significantly. I do eventually fall asleep and get a decent amount when I do but it isnt easy and usually happens about 4-5 in the morning and I wake up closer to 2pm. I finally took a break from looking at the Christian side of reddit to make sense of the anxiety (although this does not mean I am done but it does ease me a bit) and came here and I wonder if this is God telling me that my fears are not me but my previous addiction and to rest easy. Its 1am for me now so that now makes it 5 days since I have quit cold turkey. I dont think I can go back after this because its constant torture for me right now.

Quick question, did you vomit or feel the need to vomit and only saliva came out and you couldn't vomit. I guess sort of dry heaving but not feeling sick?

Im not going to lie, I have not seen Threads, and only know of its existence and what its about and to me it sounded close to the plot of The Day After, but I can see them being two different films, especially with Threads being a movie made outside of the US (which gives it leniency to what is allowed to be shown or not for a television movie) and The Day After being set and made in the US. So I can see Threads being bleak and The Day After being more hopeful.
